We had an amazing time celebrating Pride across our Huckletree hubs last week! 🏳️🌈 From themed breakfasts and bake sales to member drinks, our members came together to support the LGBTQIA+ community. We also proudly partnered with Not A Phase, an organization dedicated to supporting Trans+ adults throughout the UK.
Allyship starts with a belief in equality. But that's just the beginning. It means leaning into acceptance of lived experiences. Actively fighting against oppression. Truly understanding your own privilege and using it to stand with and for others so that we all benefit from the steps toward equality.
There's always been purposeful effort by Mediavine team members to make sure we can all show up exactly as who we are and be accepted wholly. It's my very favorite thing about the place we have built.

As we celebrate #PrideMonth, it's essential to remember that being an ally doesn't end when June does. True allyship means standing with the LGBTQIA+ community year-round, advocating for equality, and fostering inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and respected.
Here are a few ways to practice allyship all year long:
+Listen and Learn: Hear the stories and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Understanding their perspectives can help us become better allies.
+Speak Up: Challenge discriminatory remarks or actions, whether in the workplace or elsewhere. Silence can be interpreted as acceptance.
+Support LGBTQIA+ Organizations: Volunteer your time or donate to causes that advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and well-being.
+Create Inclusive Spaces: Whether at work, home, or in social settings, strive to create environments where everyone feels safe and included.

Literally everyone, no matter the size of a business, advertises. Maybe not through an agency, but there will be marketers in your team. And! Some of them will be queer! Also also also - however you're communicating your brand, you will be speaking to queer people. We are in your audience. Fact.

Outvertising is a brilliant organisation that works to make the UK ad and marketing industries completely inclusive for LGBTQ+ people. Outvertising Live is coming up, but the team does super cool stuff all year round, too. Check out the LinkedIn page and website.
So what? I'd really recommend encouraging people in your business to come along to Outvertising Live next month. The free half-day conference is for folks in the queer community, allies, and basically anyone who wants to see a better advertising and marketing industry. Not just when it comes to representation, but also through workplace policies, and in loads of other ways as well.

I really, REALLY believe that advertising is powerful. It doesn't just reflect society, it can effect change too. Those of us who shape the messages that head out in the world have a responsibility to take this seriously and use it for good. Learning how to do that, from genuinely incredible creatives and thought leaders - and enabling others to do so - is an important part of seeing progress happen.
