HR teams can play a powerful role in preparing employees for the future of work and improving their long-term prospects. This can be achieved with HR taking a proactive role in providing them with personalised opportunities for growth, along with monitoring their continued engagement and productivity within the business to identify room for further upskilling and training. Also, HR can serve as a friendly and encouraging face for this training rather than employees feeling like it’s additional work. #HR #HumanResources #Upskilling

Juggling Work & Personal Development 🤹 How have you balanced studying after work for your own personal development? 🎓 The past year has been the most challenging to date in my short career working full time, attending HR seminars and studying after work. Through supporting people's careers over the past 5 years - I have witnessed first hand - the importance of personal development as you seek progression within your career. Those reaching the top of businesses often have to sacrifice time and personal finance to upskill themselves to remain relevant and informed within their chosen field. This is what drove me to study my CIPD Qualifications to not only upskill and support my understanding of people management but also to have an effect on the day to day and long term goals at Comton Group Limited. #HR #CIPD #personaldevelopment How have you found the balancing act of work and study? #traininganddevelopment #hr #personalitydevelopment

September is the new January! 📚 It's no surprise many of us have an increased willingness to make changes at this time of year, given that from a very young age, we were use to new beginnings as we'd start back at school in September. It's definitely a time when we are likely to be more productive, hopefully with the added bonus of being refreshed after a break in Summer! 🍂 As September is almost upon us, are you planning starting a new routine, setting new goals or perhaps picking that project back up that you'd not had the time to get on with? 💡 We'd love to hear from you if you'd like some help from our friendly team. Whether it's a new or revised handbook and contracts, a training programme, a new appraisal process, implementing a new HR system, some coaching to help further improve your performance or even some ongoing HR co-ordination support to make things run smoother. 🤝 We're an efficient and flexible HR and L&D team that can work in a stand alone capacity or as an extension of your own team, all accessible on a Pay As You Go basis. 🤳 Please do get in touch if you think we can add value to your organisation! #hrconsultancy #hrsupport #traininganddevelopment

I am delighted to share our last publication on Employee Relations titled “Sustainable HRM, training for employability and organizational outcomes: the moderating role of competitive intensity”, co-authored with Egidio Riva and Elisabetta Marafioti. In this study we propose a distinction between a sustainable HRM approach to developing employee employability and a strategic one. Then, with a sample of about 21,000 firms in Europe, we investigated the impact of training for employability on organizational performance, by considering competitive intensity in the sector as a possible moderator. Although results support the potential win–win nature of employability support, they also highlight the existence of paradoxical sustainability tensions that should be managed by employers.
