Phil Berger please don't fall for the deception. PBMs aren't just killing pharmacy, they're killing quality healthcare in the United States. At the same time they're making BILLIONS for their shareholders annually ($359 BILLION for Caremark alone in 2023). You have an opportunity to do something about it. Not My Problem? Who allows unregulated greedy monopolyzing pbms hurting patients in health system? Follow the MONEY, the players receive from them. SHAME on you. What does greedy monopolizing pbms do? they stiff the competition, hurt patients and slave everyone in pathway. The hightlight of their evil doing: Rite aid bankruptcy, national pharmacists workout. https://lnkd.in/eM7w9-ZK. Thankfully, New York legislators have made right decision with NYRX by removing pbms from program, now the patients can get help anywhere instead of cramping small network with burn out helps, and save billion $. Imagine CMS and federal legislators follow the lead, we can save American LIVES and tax payer $. **a quality care can't be measure without Patient decision first.

#MedsAware We spent 'A Minute With...' Brigid McInerney FANZCAP (GeriMed, ToC), Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy at Monash Health and PhD Candidate at Monash University, to hear Brigid's take on the particular importance of deprescribing for older Australians + Australians living with a disability, the future of the deprescribing space, + more! 💊💬 Brigid shares: '[Older Australians and Australians living with a disability] are often exposed to polypharmacy required for the management of multiple medical conditions, but suboptimal communication between healthcare providers can lead to unclear plans and confusion.' 'Conversations around deprescribing should be tailored to the individual and related to their goals of care and preferences. This can help to raise awareness of the often fine line between benefits and risks of many medications [they use], while empowering them and their caregivers to engage in conversations about ongoing medication use.' 'Deprescribing is a vital part of good medication management and is as crucial to patient care as appropriate prescribing!' 💯 Read our full A Minute With... Brigid → https://buff.ly/3Z51r3t

Not everyone in this world is driven or has the stones to hold those that harm you and yours #accountable. It's much easier to walk away. Take it. Ignore it. Be put down for not letting things slide, carry arrogance that "you'd never do such things." If not me, then who? 👇🏼 When do they pay? When did demanding accountability become #toxic. If you're not built that way, that's on you. I'm different. Perhaps to a #fault, but I promise I make a difference. Whether it's the hospital expense of dealing with me, assigning resources, responding to me, gathering facts, reviewing the #complaint, and anything tangible. I'm a constant pebble in their shoes that will not quit and take the easy way out. 👇🏼 Here's what I do know, this summer, when I was in ICU, I needed help. I needed someone like me to #advocate because I couldn't move. Thankfully, my sister in law showed up. She didn't have to. Stayed all day and all night to ensure things were safe and done correctly because she's a #nurse. I coded because residents didn't listen. 👇🏼 You want someone like me at the bedside if things go south. "Your not going to change anything anyway" is a cop out. It's easy. Is there truth to some of it? Sure, but you get nowhere if you don't try. 👇🏼 You either have it, or you don't. It can't be taught. 👇🏼 2024 will be a banger. Can't wait to be on the right side of history. I will also teach you how to help yourselves and those you hold dearly. Stand by for some year-end patient advocate deliverables. Fingers crossed it will be next week. #findyourwhy #hospice #medicalerror #hospice #caretaker #grief #mentalhealthawareness #fjb

When #hospitals reach capacity, #Black patients die more. Who suffers the most at high capacity strain? Black #patients with high medical need. Why? #Providers start rationing hospital beds by race instead of medical need. Another reason: under strain, providers also ration effort by race. Black patients' notes are shorter, less complex and more subjective -- attributes correlated with less effort. #Racism is real in #healthcare. Its effects are quantifiable. It’s long overdue in the year 2024 for #medicalschools, #residency, hospitals and #physicians to deal with it. Hi 👋🏼 "Exciting news! After taking some time away, During my break, I took the opportunity to recharge my batteries and gain some new perspectives, and I'm looking forward to bringing that energy and enthusiasm to my role ✌🏼✨’ However getting back into the swing of things after a break can be challenging, but here are some tips that may help: 1. Start with a positive attitude: Approach your return to work with a positive mindset. 2. Prioritize your workload: Make a list of the tasks you need to complete and prioritize them based on their importance and urgency. 3. Take it one step at a time: Don't try to tackle everything at once. 4. Get organized: Take some time to organize your workspace and establish a routine that works for you. This will help you stay on top of your tasks and reduce stress. 5. Take breaks: Make sure to take breaks throughout the day to recharge your batteries and avoid burnout. Remember, it's normal to feel a bit rusty when you first return to work, but with time and perseverance, you'll soon be back in the swing of things.
