I’m thrilled to announce that I've joined the talented team at True North HR as an HRMS Process and Implementation Specialist! __ When my previous role was eliminated during maternity leave and I embarked upon the always-stressful job hunt, it was time to take a real look at my priorities. Pay, benefits, work location, flexibility, and culture all obviously play major factors when looking for a new job, but for me, only one was going to outweigh all the others: culture. I won't lie to you; it wasn't always easy to put culture first. High-rate contracts and flashy titles can be attention grabbers, but I know only too well how important the cultural fit at work is to my mental and emotional well-being. I have two young children, so I’d like to come home from work with some brain activity left to interact with my husband and kids, but I also want to work hard and deliver results in the office. To do that, I need to work in an environment that recharges me. When I found True North HR, from the very first conversation, I knew I had found an organization that I'd want to fight to join, and now I'm enjoying a spark of creativity and excitement just from joining an organization whose values so closely align with my own. At the end of the day, I was lucky enough to find an organization that didn't force me to sacrifice, but under no circumstances should you ever sacrifice yourself. I joined in 2021 as the HR & Resourcing Assistant and progressed my way first to an HR Advisor role and now HR Business Partner How would you sum up your working style? 💫 Practical, methodical and supportive. What are your greatest strengths? 🪄 Coming up with a good project plan and ensuring it is followed through. That and an eagle eye for even the smallest detail. What is the best thing about your job? 🙌 The opportunities available to me. As someone still relatively early on in their HR career with Stratton, I get the chance to be involved with and lead on projects, and engage with senior stakeholders that I perhaps would not have working in an in-house role. What do you like to do when you’re not working? I like trying out a new recipe at home whether that be cooking, baking or even a cocktail or two.
