Many times, patients have to be discharged from acute care hospitals due to reimbursement regulations but aren't quite ready to go home. Our hospital has designated beds for people recovering from a stroke; these patients receive therapy, nutrition advice, and skilled nursing care for one – two weeks after acute care discharge.
