Working with my cousin, Josefina, has been an incredible experience. ❤️ Why? Cause we share so much more than our job. We share family; we are friends, and that is something you don’t get to find every day. When I first joined BetterPros, I started working at the core department and learned so many things about the organization and the mission we work so hard every day to fulfill. Then, one day an unforgettable question arose. How do you see yourself working side-by-side with your cousin? Asked Dyna while giving me the opportunity to grow and succeed at the Lead Gen team. Almost two years ago, I gave the same answer I would definitely give today: it's just perfect. 🚀 💼 We have adopted a structure and dynamics that work seamlessly, trying to take care of our job and personal relationships simultaneously. However, when we meet at my grandmother's house on Saturdays, we steer clear of work conversations. It's a wonderful feeling to share this journey with someone so close. Beyond being cousins, we're friends and now excellent colleagues. Have you ever worked with a family member? How was the experience? I would love to read your thoughts… 💭

We all face challenges in our careers. But how we view them can make all the difference. But here’s the thing: You don’t have to go it alone. Your peers are a valuable resource. They’ve been there, done that, and they’re willing to help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. So next time you’re facing a challenge, don’t be afraid to reach out to your peers for help. You’d be surprised at how much they can help you.

Are you making the effort to build relationships in person? With so much to do and not enough time, it's easy to just schedule in a call for a moment.. But if you ask me, nothing will ever substitute shaking someone's hand, having a laugh over a coffee and feeling the presence of someone that you just can’t get with a phone call.. The most valuable asset you can give someone is your time.. So when you make the effort to go see someone, those actions say a lot more than words ever will. So if you are overdue for a catchup.. Or you are wanting to get to know someone better.. Make the effort to go see them, as I am sure they will appreciate it! Are you long overdue to strengthen some of those relationships?

So nice to catch up with an old friend! It's almost a decade since our paths last crossed and our careers have taken us in different directions but it was just like picking up where we left off. Adam Scott

A couple of days ago, I had the privilege of attending an enlightening meetup with the React-IL team and Riverside.fm. The experience still resonates with me. I was particularly fascinated by the lectures on how Riverside.fm leveraged game theory to solve frontend challenges, as well as the insightful discussions on #nextjs and #remix. All this game theory to tackle frontend challenges reminds me of Screeps (screeps.com), a unique MMO RTS where the core mechanic is programming your units' AI using JavaScript. (Nope, not an ad, just a cool tip! 😏) 🎮 I've been putting this off for a while, but the stars have aligned, so... I'm dedicating today to diving into this "Get your head in the game" approach. Especially with a JavaScript interview on the horizon, let's see how this algorithmic prep pays off! Thanks to all the like-minded innovators out there. Let's keep creating remarkable web experiences together! #WebDevelopment #JavaScript #Innovation #GamingInTech
With some delay... but here we are! There is nothing I love more than encouraging (not to say forcing..:)) people to come out of their comfort zone, dare, try new and scary things and discover something new about themselves - that's growth. That's my job. This time, Shayel M. was in it to win it. Took a huge leap, prepared the best looking deck I've ever seen and gave an awesome, inspiring talk. Remember where you saw him first!!! What a Superstar. Now we know :) We had such a great evening with the react-il team, thanks Nur Lee Harel for a great collaboration as always!!! Thanks Nir Kaufman and the other Nir :) for your talks! And most thanks to my phenomenal People team at Riverside!!! These evenings are hard work 😅

Today marks my first year working at Whisker as a Software Engineer. I’ve learned a lot about myself, the technologies we use, working as a team, and ultimately how cohesion with a group can result in something amazing. For anyone looking to begin their career in software, these are the most important lessons I’ve learned. 1.) You will not always know how to complete a task you are assigned. This is an opportunity for you to learn and grow. 2.) Finding a balance between asking questions and trying things for yourself is something you must discover and become comfortable with. 3.) Having a team full of intelligent, caring, and trusting individuals will change work from something you dread into something you can wake up excited for. 4.) You will never know everything. More technology is developed than you can keep up with. Learn how to learn, and be comfortable knowing each team member has specific strengths. I have never worked for a company with so many talented people to learn from. This has been an incredible year, and I truly feel like Whisker has a culture that feels like family. Thanks everyone for the incredible year, I can’t imagine a world where I started my career anywhere else.
