And 29% of doctors in this poll say they are thinking of leaving medicine altogether in a year’s time. Results from this platform are likely to be biased in that direction, with people here to network and research new roles. Nevertheless, this reflects the worrying attrition of doctors from the health service. New careers can be a great time for personal growth and excitement…but also sadness if we feel our talents have not been valued and nurtured in our workplace. A poll is only a poll - I never claim that these are a large scale RCT or anything like that. They are just for fun…but still. I wonder if people are running away…or running towards something - the push/pull factor in job change. (Make sure you find that pull factor if you are leaving). #medicine #doctors #primarycare
