Hofstra Law alumni Valerie '90 and Mark '89 Seelig have stepped forward with a transformative challenge. They have pledged to donate $100,000 to support law student scholarships with the hope that their fellow alumni and friends will collectively contribute $50,000 to any fund within the Law School. Every contribution will have a direct impact on students' lives. Let us seize this remarkable opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of law students. If you like underdog stories, keep reading. You can even be part of one. Concord Law School at Purdue University Global, the nation's first fully online law school, was founded 25 years ago, back when the only way to access the internet was via dial-up. We were founded for people who couldn't fit a traditional legal education into their lives. Breadwinners. Parents. Military servicemembers. Farmers. We were founded to make legal education more affordable and accessible so that legal services could be more affordable and accessible. Our students have included people on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. People who'd been in car accidents. People who had kids with special needs and wanted to help others in similar circumstances. People forced to give up their dream of going for law school for decades--until they found us. A year after we opened, a United States Supreme Court justice said publicly that an online law school would never work. A quarter century later, we're still around. (That justice is not.) Even if you have no connection to Concord or Purdue, you can be part of a Cinderella story. For the first time in Concord's history, we're seeking donations--to fund scholarships for deserving students, to help our grads to better serve society, and to continue to use technology to innovate. Wednesday, April 26, is Purdue's annual Day of Giving (PDoG). Although Concord makes up just TWO PERCENT of Purdue Global, we're looking to raise more on PDoG than the rest of Purdue Global COMBINED. Be part of something audacious and support a worthwhile cause. From now until Wed., April 26 at 8:59 pm PDT / 11:59 pm EDT, you can use this link to make a tax-deductible gift: https://lnkd.in/g3izTxuA . The minimum is only $10, but feel free to give more! Under "Choose a Fund," make sure to select "Purdue Global Concord Law School." Please share this post, too. If nothing else, it'd be cool to help prove that a small school can beat an entire university. Thanks! https://lnkd.in/gEffkD28

Why support Legal Prep? With so many causes in need of your support today and every day, we invite you to learn more about how your support will change the lives of students and families on Chicago's west side. Over the next several days, we will feature stories about our students, staff and school. Today, we start with family - lack of educational opportunities contributes to the 12 year life expectancy gap facing families in our zip code. It also contributes to the lack of diversity in the legal and other professions. We are trying to change the outcome for these families, by offering a quality, college-prep education. More than 90% of our seniors graduate with at least one college acceptance, and more than 60% graduate with college credits. We invite you to become a member of the Wildcat Family by donating today and sharing your story about why you support Legal Prep. Your donation will help us change the future for students and their families on Chicago's west side. https://lnkd.in/gvyPVn2E

As we approach the end of another year, it's a time for reflection, gratitude, and giving back. At The Appellate Project, we're dedicated to paving the way for the next generation of diverse leaders in appellate law. Our mission is to offer mentorships that empower law students of color, guiding them toward a future filled with opportunities and success. Briaunna Buckner Durhal, our Board Chair and an esteemed alumnus of our program, perfectly encapsulates our impact: "I speak from personal experience when I say TAP’s program and community furnish students with a clear roadmap into the field, connecting them to judges and attorneys and demystifying the clerkship process through practical, step-by-step advice." This isn't just about creating pathways; it's about changing the face of appellate law to reflect the diversity of our society. Every donation, big or small, helps us provide invaluable resources, mentorship, and support to these bright, aspiring students. Join us in making a difference. Your end-of-year donation can light the way for a student's journey in appellate law, here: 👉👉👉 https://lnkd.in/ddAdMJC #giveback #MentoringMatters #nextgen
