Without giving any major spoilers away, the concept of "non-negotiables" appears to play a big part of the third season of The Bear. This is one of those zeitgeisty moments for me, because I remember so vividly a conversation that I had with Bijal Toprani, PT, DPT, Kandis B Daroski, and Anna Maltby almost six months ago as we began to plan the podcast for our Women's Pelvic Health Program (now called 'Taking the Floor' and live in our Hinge Health app and on YouTube!). We were discussing the idea of "self-care" when it comes to pelvic health -- and how self-care can feel like an overused, easy-to-misinterpret concept. (Is it bubble baths and listening to your favorite playlist? Is it signing up for a pelvic health physical therapy program because your body deserves to feel like itself again? It's both! And so much more.) And somehow, this self-care idea morphed into what we now call in our episodes our "non-negotiables" for the week. Just as taking care of your pelvic health is non-negotiable, we wanted to give our co-hosts space to discuss self-care through this broader lens. Self-care -- in any form, in many forms -- is non-negotiable. I'm so thankful our hosts brought so many new ideas and perspectives around this. Check them out in the first 6 episodes of our podcast, available here: https://lnkd.in/ekZWZYAa And let me ask you: What's your non-negotiable when it comes to taking care of yourself this week? (Mine is finally finishing unpacking my kids' school bags and binders and getting rid of all that clutter!)

Exciting News! Launch of Our "What to Do When..." Series Hey friends! We're thrilled to announce the launch of our "What to Do When..." series, which started May 15. This guide is your go-to resource for handling emergencies with confidence and clarity. In our first episode, we covered what to do when someone is choking. Whether it's a partial or total blockage of the airway, knowing how to respond can save a life. Here's a quick rundown: 🔹 Signs to Watch For: 🔸Partial Blockage: Coughing, difficulty breathing, wheezing, blue/gray skin, hands clutching the neck, inability to talk, possible loss of consciousness. 🔸 Complete Blockage: Inability to cough, breathe, or speak, and unconsciousness. 🔹Actions to Take: 🔸 Encourage forceful coughing if the airway is partially blocked. 🔸For complete blockages, perform back blows and the Heimlich Maneuver. 🔸If the person is pregnant or you can't wrap your arms around them, use chest thrusts. 🔸Always seek medical aid urgently. Stay calm, act swiftly, and remember that your prompt response can make all the difference. Check out our website for more detailed guides and stay tuned for our next episode! #maavf #health #medicine #healthcare https://lnkd.in/d8JCF4t2
