Thurston Group, a leading private equity firm specializing in healthcare investments, is pleased to announce its portfolio company, Gen4 Dental Partners, has closed on a $315 million credit facility. The financing which was used to refinance existing indebtedness and fund acquisitions under LOI, was significantly oversubscribed and led by Man Varagon. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, Gen4 is a next generation dental service organization focused on doctor-centered mentorship and operational excellence. The company’s highly innovative and unique operational model consists of ~110 offices across 14 states and is supported by a highly aligned base of 190+ doctors and 100+ doctor partners. Through its demonstrated integration framework, Gen4 has completed 45+ acquisitions since 2021 and maintains a robust acquisition pipeline with actionable and proprietary opportunities in key markets. This transaction aims to provide Gen4 with enhanced flexibility and resources to further expand its footprint, invest in advanced technologies, and continue delivering best-in-class dental care to communities across the United States. Lamonte Jensen, CEO of Gen4, expressed his enthusiasm about the deal, stating, "This refinancing represents a significant milestone for Gen4 and underscores the confidence that the market has in our business model and growth prospects. Why the earlier move-out from corporate HQ at 3980 Premier Dr High Point, NC? The lease is good until November 2025. For those of you that don't know already, there is moving activity at the corporate HQ. Linville Team Partners leasing agents Katie & Nick are doing a very good job at hiding previous leasing availability on the 3rd floor. It would be very interesting to find out if Vtv Therapeutics subleased the 4,104 sqft to MIG USA on or after November 2021 but failed to disclose this information to the public. It's interesting that MIG USA hasn't disclosed it's official address online being at 3980 Premier Dr. High Point, NC. Adnan Mjalli occupies the same space as Vtv Therapeutics occupied in November 2021 when the earlier lease termination was exercised. The amended lease reduced the sqft from 12,786 sqft to 8,682 sqft, guess who occupies the 4,104 sqft? MIG (Mjalli Investment Group) USA. I find it incredibly amazing that Ronald Perelman a Lithuanian Jew is still working side by side with a hamas supporter after the October 7th, 2023 massacre of which 1,410 Jews who were either killed, raped, or kidnapped. Here's a two-asset #privatequity secondary that's been in the market: Excellere Partners is working a process to move two portfolio companies, AIS Healthcare and LucidHealth, into a continuation fund for more time and capital to grow the assets. Excellere tried to sell LucidHealth in 2021 working with William Blair, PE Hub reported at the time. Excellere is working with Evercore on the secondary process. It's one of several GP-leds that are moving through the market amid more muted activity on that side of secondaries. LP secondaries continue to lead volume activity, though sources say more GPs than ever have interest in running secondaries on their best assets. (Whether they get done or not is the question). 4 takeaways from Stryker’s investor day: At their Investor Day Stryker revealed that they expect to return to pre-pandemic operating margins, outpacing the market in revenue growth and returning to pre-pandemic margins by 2025. The company shared their prediction to return to 2019 operating margins of 26% in the next two years. CEO, Kevin Lobo, said the company expects growth to be about 200 to 300 basis points faster than the broader market. Stryker's strategy is to prioritize M&A as it's future capital, expecting to have paid down the term loan it successfully used for its nearly $3 billion acquisition of Vocera by the end of the year. Stryker further addressed investors’ questions about surging weight loss drugs within their clinical practice. Their main point was that weight loss drugs are effective as a fix to decreasing patients’ pain, but less effective for individuals seeking long-term joint replacements. Some companies have hypothesised that obesity drugs could also lead to more surgeries, as more patients become candidates. Stryker also issued how they plan to deal with the procedure backlogs accumulated due to the pandemic. Arguing that they are now fully staffed, helping to deal with the mass of backlogs.
