Like this for example…Most people don’t want to have more than 1 hour to commute (one way, most of us appreciate less) - draw a circle around your office with max 1 hour to commute - how many people lives in that area? - narrow it down to how many people works in the area you are recruiting for (tech for example) - narrow it down with the role you are looking for - narrow it down to how much experience you want them to have - narrow it down with additional requirements you have How many do you have now? Why do you spend money and time on recruitment services outside your area? Ok now you have a well structured ATS, but if nobody knows who is supposed to do what, it will still be a dumpster fire after a year. So today I'm sharing practical advice about governance best practices for your ATS 👇 - Good governance will make your ATS more stable, it will help maintain high data and reporting quality and provide a level of accountability. In normal person speak, write down who does what so there's no excuses - Create a RACI chart to agree ownership of the system itself. Updates, improvements, measuring ROI on the tools etc. The effective overall management of the system is very commonly neglected because nobody thinks its their responsibility. - All ATS have slightly different user permissions. So what a hiring manager gets in Greenhouse Software may be different to what they get in Lever. Research the user permissions. Decide who gets what, write it down and put it somewhere accessible. - You decide the structure and process. You create job templates and allow recruiters create the jobs. - Why? because on one hand, creating jobs with no overall structure will lead to madness, but on the other hand, whoever manages the ATS will quickly become a bottleneck. So you need a way to creating a structure while also giving individual recruiters flexibility - Quarterly review. are there bottlenecks being created because someone doesn't have access to something? Is there low data quality in areas where too many people have access to something? - updating the governance based on this will help fix these issues at the root cause. ------------------------------------ That's all you need really, no need to overcook the pudding.
