Ahead of the upcoming Automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2024 conference, we conducted a survey among international automotive CAE experts to identify the current critical challenges in automotive CAE. The conference will feature dedicated sessions for each of the seven key challenges, referred to as "Grand Challenges". 🔍 Session 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Sensors and actuators form the eyes and hands of an AV Sensors allow to recognize the surrounding of the vehicle. Intelligent algorithms analyze the picture given by the sensors and try to find a way to navigate the car safe and efficiently through the environment to its destination. Actuators are needed to transform the found solution into real movements of the car.
