#UrgentRequest -> I'm reaching out on behalf of a close friend whose family is facing a challenging situation. If you're a federal employee or know someone who is, please consider donating your "use or lose" leave to support this family. My friend's son, William, has Krabbe disease, a severe rare genetic disorder that affects his nervous system. He requires constant care. Currently, they only have nursing support for three days a week, which has depleted their available leave. Without a nurse, William can't attend school, and it takes more than one person to provide for all his needs. How You Can Help -> If you're a federal employee willing to donate leave: 1. Download and fill out OPM form 630B from the OPM website 2. In Box 10, enter: Robert Branch, USA RIA JMTC AMCoE, M5E0000 Rock Island, IL 61299-6400, TARA-ME 3. Email the completed form to jaime.l.slocum.civ@army.mil 4. CC your HR timekeeping person on the email Your donation can make a significant difference in this family's life, allowing them to provide the care and support William needs. Thank you for considering this request. Every bit of help counts! #FederalEmployees #LeaveDonation #CommunitySupport

In both my professional role as a therapist and as a human being, I have witnessed - and personally felt - the effects of losing loved ones to suicide. The stigma around this topic is unnecessary and prevents people from getting help. On top of the stigma, there is a taboo in talking about suicide. Everyone deserves to get help, talk about their challenges, and find support in desperate times. September is Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month. I am joining my company, Courage to Connect, for the Chicagoland walk to raise awareness, resources, and funding for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. My fundraising goal is $150 -- any amount would be greatly appreciated. All funds go directly to the AFSP, and contribute to training, research, and advocacy programs. Help me make suicide prevention more accessible to all people by donating! If you can't donate, please share this fundraiser across your pages so others can see it! Together we can #stopsuicide ***If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts or feelings, reach out to the 24/7 text/phone line, 988. You can either text or call 988 at any time to speak to a trained specialist. It's never wrong to get help - in fact, it is brave and beautiful! No one should have to deal with those thoughts or feelings alone. Stay strong, hang in there. The best is surely yet to come.

**Urgent Call for Help: Buddy's Road to Recovery Needs You** We have an important update on Buddy’s condition. Our vet visited the shelter and determined that Buddy’s wound was too severe to leave open, so suturing was necessary. Though it was a challenging process, we had to gently restrain Buddy to ensure he remained safe during the procedure. Buddy’s resilience continues to inspire us, but his journey to recovery is far from over. The suturing was a critical step, but he still requires ongoing care and support to heal fully. This is where we need your help more than ever. Your generosity has been a lifeline for Buddy, and we are profoundly grateful. However, the costs of his medical treatment and continued care are significant. Please consider donating, sharing Buddy’s story, and encouraging others to contribute. Every bit of support brings Buddy closer to a pain-free, happy life. Thank you for standing by Buddy’s side and for your unwavering compassion. Karen Manzo Karen England Sonya Kunkle H K. Today for #HospiceCareWeek I want to say thank you to the dedicated fundraisers, shop workers, grant seekers, finance managers, volunteers, human resources and support staff that keep services running. https://buff.ly/3PHNXpZ Hospice UKs latest report highlights the significant shortfall in funds that are affecting our sector https://buff.ly/3F7ZyJY - £47 million in two years. It varies but government funding can be less than 20% of our costs with the shortfall made up from charity. The five goals in the manifesto from Hospice UK, Marie Curie UK, the National Bereavement Alliance, Sue Ryder and Together for Short Lives are: 1. Deliver a new funding solution for hospices and palliative and end of life care to end the postcode lottery in access 2. Introduce a national delivery plan for palliative and end of life care in every nation to support delivery of local services 3. Guarantee that palliative and end of life care services meet each individual’s needs, including those of people dying at home 4. Act to ensure that nobody dies in poverty and tackle inequalities in palliative and end of life care 5. Improve support for families and carers of people with a terminal illness https://buff.ly/3rFalbt

🌟 Urgent Call for Support! 🌟 Since it began, the Bridge Back Project has been fully funded by generous donations from friends of the Project and past program participants. We are closer to submitting our research and on its publication we will begin applying for grants so that we can continue to work to bring Counterstrain to those in need. To make our programs sustainable, we need talented staff to oversee their continuity and success, and a healthy fund reserve to plan ahead and strategize responsibly. We need your help to get there. Please help us spread the word about the organization and encourage people who can, to donate. What our programs do: - Bring Counterstrain to more individuals, families, and communities recovering from trauma - Invest in more aspiring Counterstrain practitioners so that we are expanding the number of certified mastery level providers out in the world healing people - Sponsor research to collect data on how and why Counterstrain creates the outcomes that it does - Grow public awareness about the benefits of Counterstrain so that more people seek out local providers to explore if including it as adjunctive care is a worth exploring for their healing and recovery journeys Help us raise $30,000 this month to expand access to Fascial Counterstrain to help people in need get their lives back after injury and trauma. Please give today! We're on a mission to raise $30,000 to continue our work and reach more in need. Your contribution matters! 💙 #CounterstrainPower #DonateNow

Today is #GivingTuesday, which is a time that we seek to give back and support local organizations that are driving positive change within our communities. However, there are other ways we can "give" that don't specifically require a financial donation... 1.) Make a donation of nonperishable food items, unopened toys, or hygiene products to a local organization that's supporting families in need this Holiday Season. It's an easy way to bring joy to those in need of it the most, and if it's led by a localized non-profit, you can even receive a tax credit that can be written off at the end of the fiscal year. Wilson County has multiple locations who are supporting those in need this Holiday Season, including RC3 (see attached). 2.) Give your time to support organizations who are making positive changes within your community. While financial compensation does make a difference, there's nothing more valuable than your time and support. 3.) Give the gift of life by carrying Naloxone (Narcan). The training takes 15 minutes and all doses are distributed free of charge (in Wilson County) thanks to various collaborative partnerships led by our local Health Department. Finally, if your heart is set on giving to a local non-profit, please consider the Wilson County Substance Prevention Coalition in support of our efforts to battle the disease of addiction within Wilson County. This #GivingTuesday, whether it be financial or time related, please consider supporting agencies who are actively working to make our communities a safer, healthier, and overall better place for all of us to call home.

I am once again reaching out to my network to talk about a topic no one wants to talk about. Suicide is a very real issue in the world. In the United States alone we saw nearly 50,000 suicides in 2022, a 2.6% increase from 2021. Those numbers represent actual people in our communities. 50,000 mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, best friends, and more lost. What those numbers don't show are the people who attempted but didn't pass away. It also doesn't show those who were left behind when a loved one made that decision. Many lives are impacted when someone makes that choice. Every year I contribute to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 's "Out of Darkness Walk" here in San Francisco. We raise money to provide money for research and services to help address this issue. This issue is very important to me as I believe our mental health is important and that every life deserves to be saved. Every year I ask my network to donate to this cause to help us save lives. If it is in your heart to give, please do so. Any amount helps. Please click my official fundraising page below and donate if you can. Together, we can all save lives. If you are suffering and need someone to talk to, please dial 988 in the United States. For other nations, here is a list of international number -> https://lnkd.in/dEkeBpFp #savinglives #suicideprevention

Sometimes just one thing needs to click into place to make healing possible. Project HEAL is here to support you and help fill those gaps through our Cash Assistance Program. For those with demonstrated financial need, Project HEAL offers one-time cash assistance grants so that individuals can access the care they need and deserve. This step is often the last barrier to finding freedom from an eating disorder. Want to support someone that is one payment away from treatment?
