For many, it’s not every day you get to hear about properties needing land clearing and excavation, abandoned land being redeveloped for purposeful use and a new establishment, and more earthmoving projects that help shape our communities. But the women who work at Brubacher enjoy hearing and being part of these conversations all the time. See what some women had to say when asked “What has surprised you most about working for a full-service site contractor?” "How all of the details in the projects are so different yet similar in broad aspects. There are endless opportunities to learn and grow in this field." - Maecy L., Construction Administrative Assistant "Breaking ground in the construction industry involves way more than that bucket hitting the dirt. Having come from a background in the General Contracting world, it has truly astounded me the amount of heavy-lifting that comes from the very beginning of these big-dirt projects." - Juliana R., Estimating Coordinator "How friendly and helpful everyone is. You hear about how the industry is so competitive but at Brubacher everyone just wants to be kind and supportive." - Torey S., Recruiter "How many different tasks go into completing a job." - Kim B., General Laborer "How much opportunity there is to learn and grow." - Brittany E., Pipe Layer #WomenInConstruction #WICweek #Brubacher

Have you heard of the 50-pace rule? One of the best pipeline safety tips, easy to remember, and simple to do 1. When you first arrive on site, each walk 50 paces in different directions from the digging location whilst keeping a lookout for pipeline markers 2. If you find one, stop work onsite immediately and report it to your supervisor or the pipeline operator (contact details can usually be found on the post) 3. Once the pipeline has been assessed, work can resume Don't forget the 50-pace rule - it might just save someone's life #healthyandsafety #worksafe

The new Year is a good time to consider an OFFICE DOG! Job Description: Office Dog - Meet Hugo Duties: Arrive at 7.30 and greet everyone as they come to work Have a daily clockwork routine to visit every office throughout the day Encourage staff to take you around the block for a walk break morning and afternoon Increase social interaction at work Bring your toys to work and share them with everyone. Do not beg for treats no matter how sad you can look. Many years ago before office dogs became a trend I took my German Shepard into the office / store. She was such a placid and friendly dog I was very comfortable doing so. As the sales manager approached to say hello the dog went into attack mode bailing him up against the wall barking and growling ferociously very much out of character. I was glad I had hold of the lead and she was on a choker or it could have been a lot worse! Dogs have a sixth sense about people and they are usually right as was mine! Office dog- small and cute is good . #instrumentation #instrumentfitter #electricalengineering #chemicalindustry #chemicalengineering #engineeringdesign #engineeringindustry #oilandgas #oilandgasindustry #transmitters #refinery #mechanicalengineering #pressuremeasurement #temperaturemeasurement #temperaturemonitoring #gauges #processcontrol #powergeneration #waterindustry #miningindustry #boilerservice #steamboiler #engineeringconsultants #procurement #cng #lngindustry #ngv #pipelineconstruction #pipelineintegrity #sugarmills #pulpandpaperindustry #foodequipment #foodandbeverageindustry #gasdistribution

Here is one very real path to success in the building trades….. if you want the prize bad enough, the trades will allow you to reach it
YOUNG PEOPLE WANT TO WORK (Pt. 2 — a series): Toby started as a laborer out of highschool. On lunch breaks, he’d hop in the loader and try to learn how to operate it. Eventually he ended up running excavators and dozers before being offered a Jr. Superintendent position. After moving to a different company, by age 25 he was running several jobs solo as a Superintendent. Now, at 26, his desire to learn and gain the respect of those around him has paid off so much so that he was asked to run his father-in-law’s construction business. He’s not the only one... • #bluecollar #heavyequipment #earthmoving #civilconstruction #loader #mulch #landscaping

We understand the inherent dangers of construction sites, especially in Alaska's unforgiving environment. That's why we're proud to offer innovative solutions like the MC Mobile platform, designed with safety at the forefront. One of the biggest challenges contractors face is keeping workers out of harm's way during critical tasks like septic system excavation. Traditionally, this required a grade checker or helper to be positioned directly in the trench, putting them at risk from excavator buckets. The MC Mobile platform eliminates this need. By providing real-time grade data directly to the operator, MC Mobile allows for precise excavation without anyone needing to enter the trench. This significantly reduces the risk of accidents and injuries, keeping your crew safe and focused on the job. State-of-the-Art in so many ways.
As Workforce Development Month continues at Haugland Group LLC, we're shining a light on our team members whose skills and experience are needed in the energy and infrastructure industry. "Growing up I was never much of a student; school did not come easy for me. I’ve always had a knack for tinkering with technology like building computer systems. I tried the traditional college route but when I came to the realization that it wasn’t for me, my father helped me get into IUOE Local 15. I worked my way up from being a rodman to my current position as Surveyor Supervisor." To learn more about Paul Ceglia and the People of Haugland Group, visit https://lnkd.in/eEuisT9K.
