https://lnkd.in/gP9Jdk7d 🤔💭🤔 What a world!!! What a push!!! What total BS!!! Kids again being targets in our forever evolving "modern" world of pronouns and gender ideology. As a kid I wasn't in girl guides. My parents were Hungarian so my sister and I were sent to the Hungarian version. Girl Scouts, run by Nuns. Boy Scouts were run by Priests. It wasn't cushy like girl guides. It was like boot camp, learning to survive in the bush. We built everything from scratch, our entire camp site, including fire pits to cook, latrines with no privacy other than maybe a tree or two 😆, hauled water, etc. Our only "luxury" was a tent, full of holes and it made life "interesting" to say the least. Lucky if you weren't stuck sleeping on a rock where your tent was pitched. It was two weeks every summer. Nice to get home and take a real bath, let me tell you. Our campsites, boys one, girls one, was separated by miles, with forests and uneven terrain between the two. No way were we even close to being able to mingle with one another under the watchful eyes of the Priests and Nuns. When we did, one camp was brought by bus to the other camp. But overall, it was amazing, you really learnt how to survive with very little. We had daily activities, girls only, boys only and mixed activities. The mixed activities were also based on survival skills, often forming two "camps" and going to "combat" against the opposing group. No type of weapon was ever used, you stuck together in your group using smarts to outsmart the opposition. If you didn't, ultimately your group would end up losing. Pretty wild and fun trying to outsmart the other side learning to create diversions in order to reach the intended goal. At night, we had bonfires, sat together singing and performing skits. Then happily exhausted off to sleep. Some night's sleep was interrupted by the shrill of a whistle, you jumped up not knowing what was going to be played out but had no choice to participate with very limited instructions given in minutes and off you ran with your group into the bushes, forests and open terrain. Pretty comical in some instances, but it was all based on one principle, how to survive with next to nothing. 🌞

People of all genders - including Women - can and do raise boys to be men. It's just that Men need to step up and own our role, as Fathers and father figures, or as guys who randomly impact other men and boys in everyday life. I share about it in this video featuring Eddie Vedder and a former NFL player talking about Fatherhood https://lnkd.in/gaaqJ-XQ
A Rock Star, a Football Hero and a Village can help raise Boys to be Men.
