How to build a Gen Z Summit from 0 So this is what I got so far. Let me know what else. 1️⃣ Start with the vision and purpose of the event. I 1st started with Gen Z community builders, then with Gen Z founders, and now it is Gen Z founders, investors, and creators. 2️⃣ Refer back to the events you went to. You can document how you would shape the event based on previous events. After inputting the event and getting the pros and cons from ChatGPT and Bard, you can shift. I chose one summit I liked and modeled mine with improvements. 2️⃣ b. Reach out to previous Gen Z-led conferences. You want to learn what worked and what didn't, so you can make yours even better. Also helpful in eliminating previous mistakes. 3️⃣ Build a team. You refer back to what your strengths and weaknesses are. In Bard, I asked what roles I would need to fill. Did I miss any steps? Let me know if there are other things I should consider.

Well-Oiled has been busy these last couple of days. Here’s a peek into my week, by the numbers: 3️⃣ Networking events: Diving into engaging conversations and sparking potential collaborations. Thanks for hosting Philly Startup Leaders, Women in Tech Summit and Therapize (Stephanie Flexer Graaf, MPT)! 4️⃣ Pitches in 3 days: I'm not going to lie this was a lot! And a couple were pretty quick turnarounds. But happy to report we're feeling good about how all four went. 6️⃣ Client Status Meetings: I rounded off the week by touching base with my retainer clients, keeping projects on the right track. 4️⃣ LinkedIn Posts: Keeping busy on LinkedIn as always, sharing thoughts and insights, keeping the dialogue going online. Busy? Absolutely. Rewarding? Obviously. The pace was fast, but the outcomes were immensely fulfilling. How about you? How did your week unfold? Leaving the corporate world to start my own business was exciting and daunting, and one big challenge I didn't expect to encounter was loneliness. The bustling construction site of ~6000 had turned into a home office of 1, and at times I really struggled with feelings of isolation. I remember doing a Lumina Spark profile with Nikita Mikhailov, he looked at my 99% extroversion wide-eyed and encouraged me to find ways to build community. So slowly but surely, I started to build. Working with the team at Kintla was a huge blessing, I was able to embed myself into some of my client teams, and I leaned on the incredible virtual community and support that is Lean In Network | Equity & Sustainability. I made LinkedIn connections, went to virtual Meetups, and joined ClubHouse talks. As things opened up, I started business networking in #Bristol - which was very different for me after being with one large company my whole career. I found kindred spirits – fellow business owners and consultants who understood the challenges I faced – and created a whole new set of "colleagues". We need community, it makes us feel safe, supported, and able to face the challenges life throws at us. And, beyond that, real connections with genuine people just make life more interesting. So a big shout out to those who have supported me and made the journey so much more fun! Last week we talked about both The Curious Mind and The Pioneers at asynco.org (See 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/dj4amTdz and 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/dzYTuqrH, respectively). Why do we bother about meeting them all 1:1 over time? That's one of the recurring questions I get whenever I converse with different people, as I explain how we roll. The answer is simple: Community or, better said, Communityship. It's the least we could do, frankly, as a token of our own personal gratitude to everyone for their support and for their trust in #asynco in the first place. Both Cathryn Barnard 🌔 and yours truly will always make an effort to arrange a 1:1 Web meeting with all members. No exceptions. It helps us know everyone, but it's also an opportunity to understand who they all are, what motivates them, what excites them, while we learn about what they are really good at, so as they dive into different conversations in our community space, we can tag them along as they explore interactions we know they will enjoy a fair bit while they might discover and meet 'strangers'. It's that initial little bit of hand-holding I truly love, because it gives us an opportunity to have amazing conversations with like-hearted, like-valued and like-minded people willing to explore the 'What's next?' when embracing and adapting accordingly to #DistributedWork as our brave new-normal. Now, we're fully aware, at one point in time, it's not going to be scalable any more perhaps, but till that happens, we're surely having a blast being wowed day in day out not just by the superb and insightful conversations, but also by the overall quality of the people who co-build the community 🥰👍🏻 The collegial spirit, the online peer to peer support network of people who thrive on the mantra of 'I can help you today, because I can, maybe you can help me tomorrow, because you can', is something that keeps blowing my mind to no end. So refreshing & inspiring in equal measure! 🤯👍🏻 We're extremely lucky asynco community members truly understand that Communityship is all about the co-creative and learning together processes.
