For roughly 35% of kids, reading comes quickly and easily — but what about the other 65%? For some kids, it takes hundreds of attempts to learn how to read certain sounds — for others, it takes thousands. At Ignite Reading, we're able to provide one-to-one tutoring that gives each student the opportunity to get the repetitions and practice they need to close foundational skills reading gaps quickly. Thank you to NPR for covering the story of Western Hills Elementary School, and how Ignite Reading is providing Science of Reading-based instruction to all students. 🎓 Exploring the Nuances: Andragogy vs. Pedagogy 📚 It's crucial to grasp the differences between andragogy and pedagogy, particularly in the context of #adultlearning. Andragogy, the art of teaching adults, prioritizes self-directed learning and leveraging learners' experiences. Conversely, pedagogy, centered on teaching children, involves structured instruction and guidance from educators. While andragogy empowers adults through autonomy, pedagogy nurtures children through direction and support. Recognizing these nuances is key for educators to tailor their approaches effectively. #Education #LearningStyles #onlinelearning
