While we just received good news about future #projects funded by #CreativeEurope, it is a very good time to participate to the survey launched by European Commission for the first 10 years of the program supporting #arts, #culture and #creativity. A lot of good discussion (and a bit of magic) at yesterday’s Cross Con (Conference for Cross Innovation at Subtopia, Stockholm).   It doesn’t come as rocket science for most of us working in architecture and planning that cross fertilisation between the arts, cultural sector, science and business makes for thriving and successful places to be.   Whilst there is a worrying trend, in Stockholm currently, (other world cities under longer term) of arts and cultural sector being threatened by rising rents (not to mention defunding but that’s another story), there is definitely hope…   Hats off to those property owners who are enlightened enough to see that and strategically work for a vibrant mix of tenants, allowing space for the arts and culture sector side-by-side industrial, tech, and other commercial tenants.  Enhancing and creating tomorrow’s places to be... Innocode has had the honour of serving as a digital advisor and technical development partner in the project. Essentially, this involves building a system to calculate and, consequently, help reduce CO2 emissions from Film & TV, event, festival, performing arts and sports productions in the Scandinavian market, with an expansion to the European Market on the horizon. This aligns with the Paris Agreement, where Norway has pledged to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030. This tool could be an important nudge towards achieving that goal. Designed and developed by Innocode, this web-based tool is changing how producers address CO2 emissions. It guides users through logging and calculating emissions, providing insights to foster greener productions, and delivering detailed reports to visualise the impact. «We are excited to be a part of a community that is working so hard towards a common goal: making a positive sustainability impact. Artists reveal hard truths through art. They use imaginative mediums to offer a glimpse into the issues shaping our world. Impact-creating entrepreneurs envision solutions to address those challenges. This powerful combination is not a force, but a beacon of hope. It moves us toward meaningful change. The "Deep See Blue Surrounding You" exhibition at the French Pavilion in the Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia 2019 was a striking example of how #art can provoke thought and inspire reflection. The installation of garbage and electrical disposal glued to the floor confronted visitors with the fragility of our oceans. Today, I found myself revisiting the experience of walking through the exhibition after delving into the solution of the – also French – startup HelioRec. They're transforming unused water spaces into homes for #cleanenergy with floating solar panels. Drawing parallelisms and bringing elements close together expand their definitions.
