AdventHealth's emergency room at Flamingo Crossings Town Center near Walt Disney World Resort, serves patients in Central Florida as well as Walt Disney World Resort guests. As part of the project, the healthcare organization partnered with Pixar animators, architectural firm AOA and mosaic manufacturer Artaic - Innovative Mosaic to create six custom mosaics that reflect the Disney-inspired and water-themed setting of the facility. Dell Children’s Comprehensive Care Clinic, integrated into the Rosedale School, serves children with special needs. Page designed the 78,000-square-foot school building and the 18,000-square-foot clinic, which features 11 exam rooms, three consultation rooms, a procedure room, infusion room, and neuropsychology testing room. The project was designed to feel warm and welcoming instead of cold and clinical. 1moThank you for this important article, Sheila. I agree that these three areas of #clinic design, patient room #showers, and access to #daylight need further study. The one I am most concerned about is providing more daylight, particularly due to the long continuous hours staff spend in facilities. Due to Covid-19, there has been a renewed focus on staff burnout and wellness. We should all work harder to create environments where both staff and patients have access to as much daylight as possible.
