Our Annual Meeting signaled a time to celebrate all we have accomplished, pause, and reflect on our future and to celebrate our Annual Award Winners. It was a great year for us. To our community, we are proud to provide you the care you need and expect from us. To our partners, we look forward to working with you to support care close to home. Our future of care is getting even better including investments in geriatric care, pediatric care, a renovated dialysis unit, more equipment including a modern X-ray machine, an MRI and a new Master Plan and Program so we can advocate and plan our physical space for our future. We are focused on providing excellent care, close to home. Learn more: press release https://ow.ly/atpb50SpEjq

🚨 New ACTION publication 🚨 Using data from the ACTION registry, authors reviewed outcomes for patients who received Impella pumps alongside VA-ECMO from 2014 to 2021. The results? Out of 20 patients, 45% recovered, 40% moved to durable VADs, and 5% got heart transplants. These findings suggest Impella support could be vital for older pediatric patients to help their hearts recover or prepare for the next steps in treatment. 📰 Research being delivered at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust has shown that self-management of a pessary for pelvic organ prolapse could benefit thousands of women and save the NHS more than £560 per patient. Fifty women attending clinics at Saint Mary's Hospital and Withington Hospital, participated in the research which compared self-management of a vaginal pessary for pelvic organ prolapse, to hospital clinic care. The TOPSY study, delivered at MFT by co-Chief Investigator, Dr Rohna Kearney, Consultant Urogynaecologist, Saint Mary's Hospital, said: “We see approximately 1,200 new patients each year for prolapse symptoms and 750 women attend our nurse-led pessary clinic at MFT each year. Research is ongoing to look at longer term outcomes and more research is needed into how self-management can be made routine practice.” 👇 https://lnkd.in/exWEPXfn

Thank you to all who joined us last week for our webinar on emergency preparedness concepts in the athletic environment. Coming up in our next session, we're focusing on case-based decision making. ⬇️ Join us on Thursday, April 25, to hear from Chris Krobroth, Clinical Education Manager at iSimulate, as he leads a progressive and dynamic learning model for patient treatment decision-making and outcomes. The webinar will use case-based simulations to navigate patient care, but there is a catch - attendees' choices made through live polling will be used to decide how to treat each patient. After each treatment, the group decision and outcome will be reviewed. Each session will include two cases that branch exponentially based on you! Are you ready to pick your path? Course objectives: 1. Review and correlate various patient conditions with treatments and how to prioritize their delivery. 2. Identify athletes prone to sudden cardiac arrest due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. 3. Review a case study of commotion Cortis and long QT syndrome. ➡️ Learn more and register here: https://bit.ly/4aRTUd5
