We are a collaborative research team improving outcomes for older adults living with serious illness & advancing palliative care science. PI: Joan G. Carpenter, PhD, CRNP, ACHPN, FPCN
Palliative care is a holistic approach to care that is based on patient and their family needs rather than prognosis. The core concept in palliative care is person-centered care, which when neglected leads to insensitivity care. Thanks to Ingela Henoch, RN, PhD, and Professor Österlind Jane for shedding light on how this can be achieved through the 6S model for person-centered palliative care. Learn more about their model here: https://lnkd.in/exkW23vH

Great snippet exploring the potential for service delivery partnerships to have a positive impact on local commissioning of specialist services. Interesting points about shifting care left and tempering the risks to acute budgets and services. The key will be in coproduction of new services and delivery based on strong, trusting relationships.
Arlene Neville, Jonathan Simpson and Stephen Jowett sit down to discuss the changes to the NHS in 2024, specifically the devolution of the specialised commissioning budget and the impact this has on ICSs, ICBs and Life sciences. Watch the full conversation here: https://bit.ly/4beltgT
