How can I advise people on NOT being boring with their marketing if I've NEVER done an exhibition for myself?! Sam Lindley was a brilliant person to do this with as she's so full of encouragement and is far more professional than me (I need to be balanced 😆)
SO we offered riches and happiness (her) and free marketing advice (me).
Exhibitions are great when they're so well run (massive thanks to Aaron Desmond) and so well attended (thanks to Aaron's amazing network!).
The takeaways for me from this:
🎩DON'T BE BORING 🎉🎉🎉thinking outside the box is so much fun and gets noticed too
🎩Help people feel at ease and give them an opening or reason to talk to you
🎩Don't try to sell! Your aim should be making good connections and THAT'S the measure of success.
🎩Take the time to have a decent conversation
I noticed there is that ever-present fear of being sold to, even at an exhibition.
Remove that fear if you can, reassure that you want to know about them EVEN IF you're secretly dying to tell them how amazing you are.😆
No one starts a good relationship by feeling sold to - no one ever in the world.
So give them free money 🤑and find out about THEM.

I help entrepreneurs over 45 achieve the growth you need to be able to exit the business. Via the intense growth plan (fast growth) or the support network which problem solves and builds (slower growth)
Loved sharing the day with you Susie BulmanMad Little Marketer, what a great day meeting so many creative business leaders.
Thanks to everyone who came to see us for some free money 💰 at The Brentwood Centre and Aaron Desmond for organising a great South Essex Business Expo.

Last night, Jenn Kjellman was able to join the other JAX Chamber Small Business Leaders of the Year at the NextUp JAX event where they spoke to young professionals about their first jobs, lessons learned and the best advice they would give. It's an honor and joy for Jenn to be able to pour into these young professionals and share what she's learned along the way!

I love this and very much follow: ""It's an example of personal discipline, it's not expecting somebody else to do your job for you."
I tend to think that people who make a mess and don't have consideration for the people who clean it up are not the right people for your business.
Two examples come to mind, the first being, I remember being in school (many many moons ago) and another student throwing their bag of crisps over the hall, and left them there because they thought it was funny. For me it wasn't and being big for my age, I made sure they picked it up, they had no consideration for the cleaners who would have to come and clean it, "it is not their job to clean your mess, pick it up, now!" were my words. It is important to have respect for others.
The second is whenever I stay at a hotel I try and leave the room as clean as I found it, the bed is made, and all rubbish is in the bin and towels etc where they are supposed to be. I can't have someone clean up a mess I made just because I was staying there. I know they are going to clean the room any way but why not make it as easy as possible for them.
There are lots of lessons to be learned from the below.
Law Society of Ireland. Head of Property, Facilities and Real Estate - 14 All Ireland Finals as Data & Performance Analyst With Dublin & Tipperary since 2003
In James Kerr's book Legacy, which explores the lessons of leadership from the New Zealand All Blacks, former fly-half Andrew Mehrtens talks about the ritual of 'sweeping the sheds' after a game.
"It's an example of personal discipline, it's not expecting somebody else to do your job for you," he says.
"It teaches you not to expect things to be handed to you. If you have personal discipline in your life, then you are going to be more disciplined on the field."
