This weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to speak at the Startup Weekend organized by CÁCERES IMPULSA , surrounded by a vibrant community of entrepreneurs driven to bring their innovative projects to life. I shared my journey of founding two companies (LEAPto3D & BRUSHBOO ) and my experience as General Manager for Spain and Portugal at Bird , a leader in micro-mobility solutions. Here are a few key takeaways from my talk: 1. Resilience is Key: Building a startup is a rollercoaster ride with highs and lows. Staying resilient and adaptable is crucial to navigate the challenges. 2. Learning from Failure: Each setback is a stepping stone. Embrace failures as valuable learning experiences that pave the way for future success. 3. Community Matters: Surround yourself with a supportive network. Collaborating with fellow entrepreneurs and mentors can provide insights and encouragement. 4. Innovation at Heart: Whether in micro-mobility, sustainable projects or any other sector, keeping innovation at the core of your business strategy is essential for growth and sustainability. What's the cure-all to all societal challenges? Innovation. Isn't that what we all believe?   While visionary ideas, in tandem with a robust execution plan, can indeed change the world, recent years have witnessed the emergence of the "Shiny wrapper, Empty box" dilemma. Swayed by flashy presentations and eye-catching visuals, venture capitalists end up investing hundreds of millions of dollars into projects, propelling entrepreneurs to stardom, unfortunately, with little or no value created. We have seen numerous stories of meaningless innovation in recent years. For a recap, just take a look at the Forbes Hall of Shame—a list of entrepreneurs who were featured in Forbes, only to later be revealed as shams. But why does this keep happening? Created a pitch deck to send to Venture Capital firms for pre-seed investment.  Used Blogspot to create a one page website, with the goal of convincing viewers that the product or service is worth buying.
