Watch Michael McPhie explain why a deal between an Indigenous community and a company is much more than ink on a page. "We all know that there's a lot more than just the words on the page that acquire agreements, which are about trust. They're about building relationships. They're about the understanding between one another. They're about what you actually intended by those words. We have to think about how we can handle that change that often happens in a corporate environment." Understanding each other's perspectives, intentions, and aspirations is at the heart of every major project. It's about bridging cultural differences and fostering an open dialogue to include everyone. 🌎 #Indigenous #undrip #canadianbusiness

Happy Kwanzaa 2023! Wishing you and your family a holiday filled with unity, peace, joy, and prosperity entering into the New Year! Kwanzaa is a cultural holiday that celebrates African heritage and African-American culture. It is observed from December 26th to January 1st each year, culminating in a festive gathering known as the Karamu Ya Imani (Feast of Faith). Kwanzaa is a time for reflection, community, and the reaffirmation of cultural values and principles. 1. Umoja (Unity): To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, and nation. 2. Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): To define and name ourselves, as well as create and speak for ourselves. 3. Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility): To build and maintain our community together, making our brothers’ and sisters’ problems our problems and solving them together. 4. Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics): To build and maintain our stores, shops, and other businesses, and to profit from them together. 5. Nia (Purpose): To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community to restore our people to their traditional greatness. 6. Kuumba (Creativity): To do always as much as we can in the way we can to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it. 7. Imani (Faith): To believe with all our hearts in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle. Travel is not a luxury!!! For the longest time Travel on the continent has been overlooked, and I have heard the statement… “Africa has bigger problems to deal with, travel is a luxury that isn’t urgent”… more times than I count. My question is, - Have we considered the tens of Millions of people employed in the industry. - Have we considered the tens of millions of businesses operating in the travel industry. - Have we considered the fact that 9 out of 10 travel businesses on the continent are still SMBs and still lack access to basic services. - When Covid hit, did we consider the millions of people that could not feed their families and the number of businesses that were shut down? Nahashon is only 1 out of over 2000 business owners on Tripitaca, his story is one out of 2000 stories and lives depending on travel to feed their families and put a roof over their heads. For a market that contributes to more than 10% of Africa’s GDP, the narrative needs to change! Travel is not a luxury, it’s the livelihood of millions of people on the continent. #travel, #startups, #fintech
Meet Nahashon, one of our incredible hosts with an inspiring story of resilience and achievement. At Tripitaca, connecting with hosts like Nahashon fuels our passion to create products that drive their businesses forward, bringing them closer to their aspirations. We believe in the power of these conversations and fostering a community of hosts who are determined to grow their business and those around them. #InspiringHosts #communityempowerment #BuildingForSuccess

🌟 Happy Kwanzaa🌟 As we celebrate the holiday season, let's take a moment to reflect on the principles and significance. Kwanzaa, celebrated from December 26th to January 1st, was created to reaffirm African heritage and promote unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Each principle, or Nguzo Saba, carries important lessons that can be applied to both personal and professional lives. Unity, for example, reminds us of the power of teamwork and collaboration in achieving our goals. Self-determination encourages us to take control of our careers and strive for success. Cooperative economics emphasizes the importance of supporting minority-owned businesses and creating thriving communities. By recognizing and embracing these principles, we can foster a more inclusive and empowering work environment. Let's all take a moment to reflect on these principles and how we can integrate them. Happy Kwanzaa!
