Froedtert Hospital in Wisconsin needed to add reliable touch-free faucets on the exterior of certain patient rooms. After considering and rejecting both battery-powered faucets and hard-wired faucets, the hospital decided on HyTronic® faucets with Self Sustaining Power System (SSPS) from Chicago Faucets. The SSPS uses the flow of water to create and store power. No need to replace batteries, supply backup batteries, or wire the faucet to the building’s power supply. Chicago Faucets Commander™, a handheld programming unit compatible with HyTronic, allows the hospital's maintenance personnel to enable unique modes like Clean Mode, Scrub Mode, or Water Saver Mode, customizing each faucet for its environment or unique application requirements. Data can be transferred from Commander to a PC, allowing the creation of usage reports and maintenance records. #HealthcareIsOurDNA Why is ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Flooring beneficial for your Healthcare Facility? 🏥 In the technology-driven world of healthcare, protecting both humans and sensitive electronic equipment is essential. This is where ESD flooring comes in: ⚡ Static Electricity Protection: ESD floor coverings act as a static electricity barrier, absorbing electricity and safely discharging it through the floor. The end result? A workplace where electrostatic charge accumulation is eliminated, and the facility is shock-free. ⚡ Sensitive Electronics Protection: In a hospital context, ESD flooring protects sensitive medical devices from harm due to static electricity, guaranteeing the continuous functioning of important equipment. 🔍 Exploring Sterilization Trays: Wire Mesh vs. Flat Base 🛡️ In the realm of surgical instrument sterilization, the choice of trays can significantly impact efficiency and instrument care. Let's dive into the nuances of Wire Mesh and Flat Base sterilization trays: 🔗 Wire Mesh Trays: ✨ Optimal Air Circulation: The open design of wire mesh trays facilitates excellent air circulation, ensuring thorough sterilization. 💪 Durable Construction: Robust stainless steel construction withstands repeated autoclaving, maintaining tray integrity over time. 🔒 Secure Instrument Placement: The mesh pattern offers stability for instruments during sterilization cycles, preventing contact and potential damage. 🛑 Flat Base Trays: ✨ Versatile Design: Flat base trays provide a stable platform for instrument organization, accommodating various shapes and sizes. 📏 Customization Options: Adjustable dividers and slots offer flexibility in configuring the tray layout to suit specific instrument sets. 🔒 Reduced Cross-Contamination: The solid base minimizes the risk of cross-contamination by preventing contact between instruments during sterilization. 🤔 Which to Choose? The decision between wire mesh and flat base trays depends on your specific needs: Instrument Types: Consider the types of instruments you frequently handle. Air Circulation: Evaluate the importance of optimal air circulation for your sterilization processes. Customization: Assess the need for customizable configurations based on instrument variety. 💡 Conclusion: Both wire mesh and flat base trays have their merits, and the right choice depends on your unique requirements. At the end of the day, the primary goal is to ensure the highest standards of sterilization and instrument care in the healthcare environment. What's your preference, and why? I love this simply because it’s one of the biggest concerns when it comes to implementing the use of the Turbett Surgical PODs this product is amazing it will save time in CS/SPD/CSSD or whatever you call your department but also in the OR it reduces the number of sterilizer loads processed due to the number of trays that can be processed in the pod vs the # trays you can fit on a sterilizer rack. It also eliminates time wasted looking for trays because they are all in 1 spot every SPD should be looking at this product. #PODthemtrays #SayitLOUD #sterileprocessing
🚨 Check out the latest #ExpertSeries release from Kelly Truppo! This 3 page PDF resource is available for download here: https://lnkd.in/gEYhctG5 "Effective inspections and reducing instances of bioburden are paramount to ensuring the safety and reliability of medical instruments. We all recognize a black light’s ability to make things glow neon. Now facilities nationwide are incorporating black lights into inspections as they emerge as a game-changing asset. Certain stains and objects show up under black lights, a type of UV light because they absorb short wavelengths of UV light and quickly reflect it back. Blood, bone, and other pathogens are included. In fact, most biological fluids contain fluorescent molecules that will glow “neon,” identifying substances invisible to the naked eye, that show up as black, yellow, green, or other colors. Their power to produce a glow makes black lights valuable in detecting hidden pathogens on instruments, workstations, and trays in sterile processing departments. The inexpensive lights can be installed over workstations, used in handheld versions, or attached to keychains. Brad Evans, CEO and president of Optisolve, identifies steps for facility managers and staff using UV lights: - Choose a professional-grade UV light system that emits UV rays in extended frequencies — 100 to 400 nanometers (400 nanometers equal about 1.6 inches) to detect surface bacteria. - Wear glasses or goggles that protect against UV rays. - Turn off other lights. - Hover over areas where you suspect contamination. Black light is not a save-all, but it is another tool to reduce the risk of bioburden being left on instruments or inside trays. Even without UV lights, you can ensure more time to find bioburden by using multi-tray sterilization systems. Using multiple trays within a single Instrument Pod, inspectors can devote more time to instrument examination. This doesn’t just improve inspections but also minimizes..." - Kelly Truppo To check out more from Kelly's Expert Series™ visit: https://lnkd.in/gWj2SKAr #MultiTraySterilizationExpert #BeyondClean #WeFightDirty #ExpertSeries

Fundamental hospital equipment, such as mechanical ventilators, are essential for all patient care where assisted breathing is necessary. During the COVID pandemic, production of 'open-source' ventilators took off. Manufacturers from varied engineering sectors provided components to meet the demand, necessitating physical quality testing of parts previously outside their experience. Software-controlled UTMs and torque testers came to the rescue to facilitate consistent functional performance. #casestudy #qualityassurance #testing #engineering #materials #testingsolutions #forcetesting #torquetesting #materialstesting #universaltestingmachine Mecmesin | Testing ventilator and breathing assistance apparatus components https://hubs.la/Q02pf4TT0
