At Sustainable Talent, we celebrate International Women’s Day 2024. As a business, we're proud to support and uplift women every day. We're committed to creating a space where women's contributions are recognised and celebrated. Director and Co-Founder Mhari-Claire Doolan has this message: "I think the most effective way we can all #InspireInclusion is to start with awareness. Whether it be raising our children to understand the importance of inclusivity, being a role model to others in business or our personal life or not being afraid to stand up and call it out when we see a lack of inclusivity. "Nothing can get better without awareness and often lack of inclusion isn't intentional. Awareness will accelerate the change we want to see tenfold! "Throughout my management and now business leader career, I always ensure that I am doing all I can to recruit, retain and develop diverse talent. "That I empower women through being an ally but also (hopefully) a role model that women can "have it all!" "But also that "all" is whatever YOU want it to be! Single, married, house wife, entrepreneur, etc etc. "Be whatever YOU want to be and in doing so be happy. That's the goal isn't it, happiness!" Throughout the day, the rest of our team will be sharing their message. #InspireInclusion #WomenEmpowerment #SustainableFuture

👯♀️ Happy International Women's Day to all the incredible women who inspire, lead, and make a lasting impact on our world! 🎉 Today I'm reflecting on topics like this: 1️⃣ Diverse teams are better for business 📈 Diverse teams are not just beneficial – they're essential! Different perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds bring creativity, innovation, and a broader range of ideas to the table. Embracing diversity in our teams and leadership leads to stronger, more resilient organizations. 2️⃣ Men are important allies to move towards a more equitable world: Men make up the the majority of people in power- as of 2021, only 3% of executive directors on FTSE 100 boards are female. 😑 It's crucial for the men in power to acknowledge that the world doesn't treat everyone the same way, and that the reason for this statistic is NOT performance related. By involving men in addressing the challenges faced by women in the workplace, and the men with all the power making moves to change the system, we can work together to break down barriers and build a more equitable world. 💪 Finally (and maybe most importantly).. 3️⃣ Raising 👏 Women 👏 Up 👏 Does 👏 Not 👏 Bring 👏 Men 👏 Down 👏 : Let's debunk the myth that empowering women somehow diminishes the achievements of men. In reality, lifting women up elevates everyone. It's not a competition; it's a collective effort to create a world where everyone has equal opportunities and can thrive and profit! I feel lucky to be have been inspired by incredible female leaders over my career and I'm also lucky to be part of great organisations like Professional Women's Network (PWN) Netherlands and Equals to make equality a year-round goal. 😊 My stats in this post come from the Board Diversity and Effectiveness in FTSE 350 Companies report by the Financial Reporting Council- link in Comments! 🌐👩🔧👩💼 #InternationalWomensDay #DiversityAndInclusion #Empowerment

🌍💡 Embracing Global Brainstorming and collaboration: A Path to Prosperity & Equality 💪 In a new world connected mostly by technology, our potential for positive impact is limitless. When we come together in brainstorming groups from different corners of the globe, magic happens. 🌐 It's my theory in action.... By harnessing collective creativity, we create impactful and 100% human solutions that reduce suffering, promote equality, and unlock opportunities for all. 🌟 I was lucky enough to hear from and collaborate with incredible women and men at the The CEO Magazine - ANZ event on Necker Island in May this year. It was humbling for me after experiencing so much suffering to hear from others who turned adversity into impactful global action and activation, women like Zarifa Ghafari and Ronelle King. These women are taking the world by storm and showing others pathways to thriving in a world full of injustice. Remember, our shared successes ripple outward, lifting others up in the process. Let's continue to collaborate, innovate, and build a brighter, more equitable future for everyone. 🚀 #GlobalBrainstorming #ProsperityForAll #equalitymatters The CEO Magazine - ANZ Virgin Unite

BBC writes about gender equality in the top sustainability job – the CSO. Sustainability Leaders’ Dinner tradition means that I network with them, here’s my take. In the Nordics we think about ourselves as equals, and it’s so obvious we don’t often think about this matter that much. Finland just had Sanna Marin’s government where all five party leaders were women. But in enterprises we also suffer from the “broken rung”, women don’t get to management positions that lead to higher leadership jobs. The article topic is great, thank you BBC! According to the article, 54% of Chief Sustainability Officer positions are held by women, but that’s way back from 2021. Here’s today’s data from my own level 1 network in Linkedin. Based on “Connections – Search with Filters” tab I have 165 Chief Sustainability Officers in L1 network of which 61% are female. As for the claim that people up north are equal, from the CSOs located in the Nordics, 65% in my L1 are female (n=29). In the DACH countries 55% (n=36) and in southern Europe 57% (n=28) of them are female. I would say women now hold more than 54%. If you are a CSO in my network, pencil in the diary dinner May 13th in London. You’ll soon get an invite there. So stay tuned... https://lnkd.in/edChw-n5 #sustainability #may13th #londoncalling

Women leaders are stepping up to shape the future of sustainability. With over half of CSO positions now held by women, we're witnessing a remarkable shift towards gender equality in sustainability leadership. Additionally, more corporate boards are seeking individuals with this background, so don’t discount a CSO role as your path to the boardroom! "Sustainability is now a critical consideration in decision-making from the boardroom on down, and customers demand that we understand these issues as a core part of how we run our businesses and operate in our communities," Kara H. Hurst, CSO at Amazon. It's time to bridge the green-talent gender gap and ensure women's roles in sustainability are not just temporary. "We need more women in leadership positions across all sectors and jobs, period," says Amazon's Hurst. https://lnkd.in/gPuAWkGy #CSO #sustainability #executivewomen #womeninleadership

On this #International Women's Day, we at Vanilla Vida pause to take pride in our women and their accomplishments. Some are senior managers, others are young professionals just starting their careers. Some are mothers, others are enjoying single life. Their life stories are incredibly diverse, and we wouldn't be the same company without them. We're also proud to be a part of an industry that embraces women leadership. Here's a challenge: check out the website of a #foodtech company you've heard of. Chances are they are led by women, either at a CEO, CTO, CFO, COO, CMO or CSO level. Having said that, gender inclusion and equality still have a long way to go, globally. Not only in traditional industries, but also in advanced industries like high-tech. This is why International Women's Day and the message of #inspireinclusion is so important. Here's to a better (and more gender equal) future! P.S. On second thought, we saved you the online search – here's to the pioneering women of foodtech: Hadas Rajchenberg Dorit Rozner, PhD Tal Govrin Tali Nehushtan Shulamit Levenberg Anat Natan Lihi Dar Vered Kirsch Shiri Ranot Liat Cinamon 🎗Youval Amit Esti Brantz Lilach Simon GivoniRoni Zidon Rom Elias Hadar Ekhoiz Razmovich Tali Feldman- Sivan (PhD) Mor Wilk Gali Nimni Reiner Shaked David Liron Nimrodi Maya Schushan Orgad Moria Shimoni Mayu Sugisaki Carmit Feliks Strauss Ph.D Shira Damti Sheskin Tal Malca Salhuv Daphna Heffetz Daphna Miller hilla wenkert Aya Dekel דר וול Ayelet Dar Wohl Daniela Rabinovici Hila Oshinski #inspireinclusion #genderequality #internationalwomensday #womeninfoodtech

Oman’s State Council Member @ State Council Oman | PhD in Sustainable Development, Chairman of Oman Environment Society and the CEO of Oman LNG Foundation.
Recently, a friend asked me why #women's leadership is important for #sustainability. My answer could be summarised in a few points: 1. Women bring unique perspectives and experiences to the table, which can help develop innovative and practical solutions to sustainability challenges. Including women in #leadership ensures a broader range of perspectives is considered and leads to more comprehensive decision-making. Studies suggest that women bring new perspectives to the workplace and improve collaboration while increasing the number of qualified women in an organisation's leadership yields better performance overall. 2. Women comprise half the world's population yet are often underrepresented in decision-making processes. Including women in sustainability leadership, roles helps ensure that their voices are heard and their interests are taken into account, promoting gender equality and fair representation. In Oman the immortal words of the late Sultan, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may Allah rest his soul in peace, who said: "Our country, undoubtedly, needs both men and women in its blessed march forward, just like a bird that relies on its two wings to soar high in the sky. What would become of the bird if one of its wings is broken and powerless? Would it be able to fly? Such words from a national leader and founder of modern Oman are a testimony and recognition of the role of women in society and sustainability. 3. Women leaders often promote #collaboration, #empathy, and #inclusivity. These characteristics are crucial for addressing complex sustainability issues that require cooperation among diverse #stakeholders. Women's leadership can foster more cooperative approaches, building networks and partnerships that promote social impact and positive change. 4. Women do not have homogeneous experiences as individuals. Intersectionality recognises that #gender intersects with other social identities, such as race, class, and #ethnicity, influencing people's experiences and vulnerabilities concerning sustainability issues. Including diverse women in sustainability, leadership helps bring attention to and address these intersecting factors. 5. Promoting more women in leadership positions within the sustainability discourse sets an example for young girls and women that they also have a place in shaping the future of our planet. Having visible female leaders inspires and encourages aspiring leaders to step forward and contribute their ideas and talents towards sustainability efforts. Therefore, it is fair to conclude that including women in sustainability leadership roles is crucial to ensure diverse perspectives, promote collaboration, address intersectionality, and inspire future leaders. By harnessing the full potential and #talents of women, we can enhance the effectiveness and inclusivity of sustainability efforts. #empweringwomen #sustainability #SDG #womenforsustainability #omanvision2040 #womenforchange #womenempoweringwomen
