Apply for funding to develop design-led solutions to address specific challenges facing biodiversity in the UK. Design Exchange Partnerships (DEPs) are three-way collaborative projects which bring together early career design researchers, an academic supervisor and a non-academic organisation, such as a small business, NGO or public sector organisation. The partnerships seek to demonstrate tangible impact on local communities by stimulating the real-world application of high-quality arts and humanities-led design research to address challenges related to achieving green transition goals. The full economic cost (FEC) of each project can be up to £62,500 for six months or £125,000 for 12 months, plus a five to 10% contribution from the non-academic partner organisation. The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) will fund 80% FEC. 👉🏼https://lnkd.in/ejVfPm9u

Student at the University of St Andrews | MSc Sustainable Development | Fascination for sustainability, politics and feminism
🌍 Igniting My Passion for Sustainable Development at St Andrews University 🎓 In just a few days into my Master's program at University of St Andrews, I had the privilege of attending a conference on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), hosted by the Scotland's International Development Alliance, alongside my peers. Here are the key highlights: 🌱 Elevating SDGs in Decision Making: The conference underscored the need to elevate awareness and knowledge about the SDGs, emphasizing their integration into strategic decision-making for us to meet the 2030 goals effectively. 🗣️ Empowering Voices: Panelists stressed the importance of involving communities in political processes, making SDGs a collective mission. 📜 Defining Sustainable Development: A significant discussion revolved around the need for consistent definitions of sustainable development within government bodies, a critical aspect in achieving the SDGs. 🤝 Community Engagement: I found inspiration in Norway's Norad - Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, which employs a community-focused approach to raise SDG awareness through a massive hike. 🏞️ As I navigate my Master's program, these insights strengthen my dedication to sustainable development. Let's collaborate, spark change, and work together towards a better world! 💪🌎 #SustainableDevelopment #SDGs #StAndrews #LearningJourney

Are you losing hope in the power of education? Does it feel like an exhausting process of swimming against the current of negative forces? 🌿Well, it is precisely for that that we need to engage in a robust conversation on building stronger and more efficient foundations through education. 🌿 Rather than focusing on content, curriculum, delivery etc. (as important as they are) let’s focus on the type of relationships we want the future world to be built upon. 🌿Let’s educate for cooperation and reciprocity, the values embodied by ecosystems. Let’s put education to values at the forefront so that the future scholars, builders, farmers, educators, carers etc. will never even hesitate to say NO when asked to discriminate or do anything abhorrent to anyone including to the natural world. And if we do it together, create like-minded communities, we’ll be able to share the load. 🌿That’s how we can build a prosperous and sustainable world! Do you want to share thoughts with like-minded people, start a community-based project or just learn more? Join our course starting on July 24. 😀 https://lnkd.in/eXk6FdzX
