Check out Vivien's story for an inspiring journey of persistence and determination!
Got rejected from Harvard 5 times, but for the 6th time I got accepted and passed it with flying colors. I am incredibly thankful and I hope I made Harvard University proud along the way as well. At age 7 it was completely unimaginable from the small Eastern European industrial town I am from - viewed as equivalent to going to Mars. It was unimaginable even in 2016, then in Argentina, when I scored rejection number 3. But I am glad I kept going, modified strategies, and eventually made it. A month ago I graduated and was given crazy opportunities along the way: 🔍 Research - conducted research with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration - presented at Harvard "AI for Good" event, NASA seminars, and at the United Nations "AI for Good" conference - met a princess even: Beatrice York! - about to publish 2 scientific papers as co-author with NASA scientists 📚 Academics - got Dean’s List Academic Achievement Award - got Dean’s Prize for Outstanding Capstone, the first awarded of this kind - created NASA and NOAA collaboration opportunities for ~15 (and counting!) other students 📈 Startup - became part of the fantastic community at Harvard Innovation Labs and got their Spark Grant - was selected to pitch to Kevin O'Leary at Shark Tank ABC event at Harvard and at TechCrunch Disrupt - got to talk to Jimmy Donaldson a.k.a. MrBeast team and other major content creators 🚴 Sports - set a Guinness World Records in long-distance cycling in New England Of course I did none of it alone, and I am incredibly thankful for everyone who helped along the way. ❤️ Very thankful. 🙏
This story is so inspiring! All of us deserve to believe in growth 🪴no matter where we are from, small Eastern European town or else.
