AbuseShield and BrandLock are now available to order on DNAccess. Exact Match Blocking with BrandLock blocks domain names that are identical to the brand under one or several participating top-level domains (TLDs). Example: the Block Label “microsoft” would block “microsoft.TLD1”, “microsoft.TLD2” etc. If a blocked domain name is searched for, domain name registrars will show, in their search results, that the domain is not available. It is not a premium name, it is not on the aftermarket, it is simply not available for registration. AbuseShield is a proactive solution that blocks the variants of a domain name from being registered. The variants of a domain name that are commonly used for DNS abuse, such as spamming, phishing, and malware.

NameBlock is launching. Soon, you'll be able to proactively protect your company's name and brand by blocking domain name registrations by others. For example, I can place a block on my company's name, "Hartzer". No one will be able to register a domain name that includes "Hartzer" in the name. This is great news for companies and brands, especially brands that have their websites copied or their products being sold on unapproved or fake websites. Google just announced the March 2024 spam updates, and now I'm hearing of at LEAST 25 domains/sites that have received manual action penalties for "pure spam". So Google's not just dealing with it via algo updates, they're penalizing sites and giving them manual actions. If you get a manual action from Google for "pure spam", which is a type of manual action that's been around for at least 10+ years, it's the same response: you need to completely remove all that content, start over with fresh new content, and then 'beg for forgiveness' from Google. Tell them you've removed the content and won't do it again. That's the only way you'll get the penalty removed. And even then, it may take a year or more to recover. Some sites never recover.
