How much bigger is Meta Quest (standalone VR headsets) than PCVR (compute tethered PC)? Gorilla tag peak Daily Active Users on PC: ~5000 Gorilla Tag peak Daily Active Users on Quest: ~1,000,000 Quest GT player base is 200x(!) bigger than PCVR Quest devices are significantly cheaper and have less friction to operate ($300-$500), compared to the minimum $1000 investment to use PCVR.
Actually what this shows is that no one wants to play a game that looks like Gorilla Tag on PC ever. Steam has far too much competition whether its Steam or SteamVR for people to play Gorilla Tag. And to be clear the same argument could be made to compare a random game on Steam to let's say Roblox's Adopt Me.
This is data that we all knew at heart for years, but its definitely enlightening to see real numbers for a change. We usually don't get any level of intimate metrics from anyone in the VR world. Plus you can always play PCVR with the Quest HMD, but honestly I rarely I do that. I personally haven't touched my Vive Pro or Index in the last 2 years.
Spot on. Even though PCVR users are often more passionate and vocal, their numbers across the board are significantly smaller than Quest. The time and resources it takes to maintain PCVR is often not worth it. If I were to make another game, I’d focus on doubling down with purely Meta Quest.
What about enterprise and training?

1moWhile I agree overall with the point, you're glossing over a MAJOR difference which is the Steam version of Gorilla Tag is $20 and the Quest version is free.
