Any PR pros or Communications specialists have advice for imposter syndrome? I am sometimes stuck between am I measuring the success of a campaign properly ? Am I being bullied by the client to do more than what’s in contract to out do myself? Have clients become so egregious and self absorbed that they think they are better than their Publicist resource group? So many times people get misued by clients and then are pushed to return funds after doing work. How do any of you stay confident when dealing with ungrateful clients? I would love some examples. When Jason first contacted me from our Marketing team at GME to answer the question, "What is your favorite part about working at GME Supply," I thought about how much time he would have to listen to my response because I could quickly rant for days. That said, and in the interest of timeliness, I have consolidated my thoughts, and here they are. I am, at heart, someone who loves people, interacting, communicating, connecting. In any workplace, in any industry, I firmly believe that personal and professional success relies on an ability to work with others; internal and external relationships are the building blocks from which all else comes. In my 2.5 years here, I have noticed that our company has brought together the highest concentration of high-character, tirelessly devoted, motivated, skilled, knowledgeable, and determined people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. In the past, I have worked for some fantastic brands like Whole Foods Market and Four Seasons Resorts and Clubs, both of which hang their hats on their customer service approach, driven by their employees. I can honestly say that neither can compete with the consistent quality of work we put out and, equally important, the fun we have doing it. I attribute much of the success to those who have brought us together. As companies transition away from the old school model for identifying quality candidates and embrace the new resources more aimed at gauging compatibility and personal characteristics, I think it is fair to say that our hiring team has really done a phenomenal job putting the pieces in place and entrusting us with GME's future. We are all responsible for doing our part to help maintain this beautiful culture. We have all heard the cliche, "If you can find a job doing something you love, you will have found the secret to a great life." I can honestly say I have found the secret to a great life.
