What an experience! Over the past couple of months me, Dan Gavin, Josh Kingsbury, and Adam Roy have built a kart for the Red Bull Soap Box Race 2024! 🏎️💨 We all met during our internship at SharkNinja and Adam had the great idea of applying to be entered into the race earlier this year. We took inspiration for our kart from Battersea Power Station, where we have been working over our internship, miniturised it and smacked some wheels on it 😂 We spent a totaly of 5 days in the workshops at BLOQS where we constructed the cart using a range of methods including metal fabrication, wood working, and foam board modelling. I have had an amazing opportunity to learnt some new skills along the way such as MIG welding so thanks to Redbull and Shark Ninja for providing us with the help we needed so that we could take this venture head on! We did so well as a team and I think we definitely got some laughs from the crowd throughout our run down the hill at Alexandra Place which was great! We got across the finish line (even without three chimneys and a wheel 🤟) The race happened last weekend but if anyone would like to watch our spectacular run I have attached the video below. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. :) Thanks to all the support we had from friends and family on the day - it was awesome. Amazing job team, we smashed it! #redbull #redbullsoapbox #sharkninja
