Latest golf participation data from the NGF... On-course golf up 4%; off-course golf up 18%, and far exceeding on-course participation. The most interesting stat for me is off-course only golf being up 19% and accounting for 41% of total golf participation. These people have never stepped on a golf course, and a good chunk of them probably never will. This clearly shows a decoupling between traditional and modern forms of the game. And with the average age of off-course only golfers being 15 years younger than on-course golfers, it's clear what this says about the future of golf.
