🚀 Week 4 Update: Developing an Algorithmic Trading Model The project is gaining traction with increased interest from colleagues and a broader audience. The influx of questions is a positive sign, reflecting the growing engagement I aimed for. On the model front, we incorporated Momentum Indicators such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and delved into the complexities of capturing signals like MACD Divergence through code. While these indicators might seem straightforward on a chart, translating them into actionable code made me strain my brain to the max. As the holiday season approaches, I'm considering a brief pause to recharge and reflect. Excited about the prospects that the upcoming year holds! Techstars is "...  gearing up for the 2nd financial metrics survey of the year." I strongly advise any Techstars companies to take a very close look at the service provider behind this survey. Specifically: a) how secure is their infrastructure? How well will they protect this massive trove of sensitive financial information? b) How will they use all of this valuable information, not for Techstars necessarily but to further their own business? Techstars handled this data request extremely badly last year and we declined to participate. This year, they say "... if you do use Standard Metrics, no integrations are necessary to complete the survey." This is a huge improvement over last year but doesn't address the questions of Standard Metric's data security and use of -our- data. Techstars has a history of pushing cohorts into ecosystems that Techstars has a financial interest in. The clearest example of this is SVB. They were offered as a "startup friendly bank" when they were really a -unicorn- friendly bank. Most startups would have been much better off going with a local or regional bank. Using Standard Metrics feels like a SVB disaster in the making.
