Well done on the clear, concise, comprehendable and convincing protest. Filling the Fund is the first and foremost challenge - it should not be filled merely with pledges or redirecting old allocations but with “FRESH COMMITMENTS” as is in wars - a “SWIFT DISPATCH”. Once fund starts to get optimally filled up, a bigger and a more formidable challenge is in its “DELIVERY” which apparently has been intentionally kept unaddressed so that all the blame can be put on the inadequacies of the developing countries’ public delivery system and delivery rather made through international NGOs which is perceived by host governments as another white elephant. The developed countries need to work with developing countries NOW to put in place an efficient, effective and a SMART public delivery system to route expediently the urgently needed fiscal support at the local level. Unfortunately, while delivering developed countries tax payers hard earned public money to needy locals till now for nearly a century we have not been able to help put a single delivery system that we can showcase. High time we worked and developed one.

In a landmark ruling that will set a benchmark for future climate litigation, Europe’s top human rights court has ruled that a government’s failure to cut greenhouse gas emissions can be considered a "violation of citizens’ rights". The case was brought by an association of 2000 senior Swiss women who claimed that the Swiss government is not taking enough action to address the adverse impact of global warming on their health. Today is the second of a 2-day hearing in which small island nations disproportionately affected by the climate crisis are asking the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (Itlos) to determine whether greenhouse gas emissions absorbed by the marine environment should be considered pollution. The outcome of this - and the use of the principle of transboundary harm - may mean a fundamental shift from "political discretion" in respect of the Paris Climate Agreement to legally binding obligations at the national level, which in turn will mean a legal necessity to do business demonstrably differently when it comes to environmental impact. BREAKING: Greenhouse gases are a pollutant that is wrecking the marine environment and states have a legal responsibility to control them, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea/Tribunal international du droit de la mer has said in a landmark moment for #climatejustice. And wealthy nations must cut their emissions faster than their developing peers. The statements were part of an advisory opinion on climate change issued today by the court, following a request from the Commission of Small Island States on Climate Change and International Law (COSIS) - a group of nine Caribbean and Pacific island nations led by Antigua and Barbuda, and Tuvalu who are particularly vulnerable to climate change and had become frustrated with the pace of international talks.
