Shared some coffee (and tea) with a candid, but kind gentleman who founded a very prominent tech start-up. I asked for a bit of advice for early & mid-level professionals, to which he responded, “Always be willing to f*ck around and find out. No one who is afraid of taking big risks will ever succeed.” I think that’s a great way to finish out the week. #techcommunity #techcareers #afrotech

Community Specialist at Genuin| Top LinkedIn Voice 2023| Founder of The Group Chat Queen| Talks about how to build a global 🌏 community
Don't sleep on the power of Gen Z and their personal brand. Meagan Loyst recently shared the main stage at London Tech Week only <1 year in UK. 🤯 She shared the stage with Bridget Lea and they discussed about “The Gen Z Future Leader,” and how Shapchat is embracing Gen Z creativity. Gen Z is the future… driving consumer spend, changes in the workforce, and more. Meagan Loyst grew herself building Gen Z VCs while working as an analyst and associate at Lerer Hippeau in NYC. You can see this in all my fellow Gen Z LinkedIn peeps like Damayan, Travis Chen, Stephanie Nuesi, Morgan Young, Natalie (Corporate Natalie), Nova Pierre Louis, Damaryan Benton, and others. This is why I am building GenZtea, to give power to Gen Z & be able to positively impact the world around them. It not only brings power to themselves but also to the companies, partnerships, and colleagues they closely associate themselves with. What are other Gen Z voices that you are inspired by? #genz #genzfounder #genzinvestor

Founder & CEO of 🌜Sanza🌛| Digital Transformation Consultant | Femtech Innovator | Cycle Syncing Advocate | Holistic Health Enthusiast 🌿
The start of this month hit me hard with a wave of fear and self-doubt. In this high-stakes and fast-paced tech world, figuring out what sets me apart has been tough. Sure, I have only a few direct competitors, but that often feels more intimidating than reassuring. I'm not your typical tech founder. No fancy degrees or tech background. Sometimes, I look at my colleagues' glowing resumes and feel like I just don't measure up. It's like standing in a room full of giants and wondering if you even belong. But then, I remember what drives me – my roots, my mission. I'm here to weave together the wisdom of my ancestors with the potential of modern tech. It's not about competing in the usual way; it's about honoring where I come from and using that to make something new, something meaningful. I named the 'Sanza', a nod to my heritage. It's more than a tool; it's a statement – that progress doesn't always mean discarding the past. Sometimes, it's about looking back with respect, understanding the depth and richness of traditional knowledge, and bringing it into the conversation with technology. Being here, doing this, it's scary. I'm constantly questioning if I'm enough. But then I realized this is exactly why I need to be here. We need different voices in tech, not just the same old stories. We need to shake things up, bring in new perspectives, and that's what I'm here for. So, yeah, I'm not your typical tech entrepreneur. And that's okay. It's more than okay – it's necessary. We're building something special with Sanza, something that respects the past while building the future. And that's something to be proud of. Here's to all of us who feel a bit out of place but keep going anyway. We're making tech more diverse, one story at a time.
