Community wealth funds.(there is a survey on this now ) I’ve written to the council leader to consider being more strategic with funding pots. I wrote to the sutherland councillors few years back (nobody listens) There are many different sources of funding out there - but many groups do not have the time/word wizardry/capacity to source the funds. Solution- So we employ a team of funding finders - and they fill out the applications. Each county and village has its priority lists to achieve (bigger picture stuff) Windfarms- lottery - levelling up money - coastal community money - etc etc etc . £millions floating about for sutherland alone . Stop the postcode lottery - word wizards getting the cash … & no accountability - has the content of the application is delivered or not . Or checking are the applications- true & accurate.

T-Mobile Hometown Grants is a $25 million, five-year initiative to support the people and organizations who help small towns across America thrive and grow. Hometown Grants are given every quarter to up to 25 small towns. Apply for funding by September 30 to support a community project, like revitalizing or repurposing a historic structure, creating a downtown asset or destination or improving a space where friends and neighbors gather. Tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec. 12th) marks the beginning of the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge, a unique opportunity to leverage community support for participating nonprofits.   As a volunteer board member for the Idaho Access Project, I have a request: will you help us promote aging-friendly, visitable homes and neighborhoods in 2024? Gifts made to the Idaho Access Project through Avenues for Hope are matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2,500 thanks to generous sponsors.   Those same sponsors are funding additional prizes, which means we have a couple of dates that will stretch your contributions even further:   Tomorrow – Dec. 12th ‘Early Bird Prize’ $500 will be awarded to each organization that receives at least 12 unique gifts between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. MT on 12/12 (Day 1). (Only gifts of $25 or more made online are counted towards this prize. Here’s the math: 12 X $25 = $300 X 2 (matching $) = $600 + $500 (early Bird Prize) = $1,100   December 16th, 17th Weekend Warrior ($250) + $500 Personal Match $250 will be awarded to organizations with at least 12 unique gifts during a single weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of the campaign. (Only online gifts are counted towards this prize.) This prize can only be won once by each organization. $500 personal match. In addition to the Avenues for Hope dollar-for-dollar match, we have another $500 match for donations made on the 16th and 17th—making this a two-to-one match. Here’s the math: $500 X 3 (matching $$) = $1,500 + $250 (Weekend Warrior Prize) = $1,750. That’s a big deal for a small nonprofit. 🚨 Reminder that Round 4 is the final round of the Community Ownership Fund and there will be two bidding windows to allocate the remaining funding. Round 4 Window 1 is open now until 10 April. The £150 Million fund exists to help local communities across the UK to take control of assets, amenities or facilities that are at risk of closure - from parks to pubs, lidos to libraries. Groups can apply for up to £2M through the Community Ownership Fund to purchase or lease a local asset or help cover refurbishments (with most bids expected to be up to £250k of capital funding). All funding provided through COF must be ‘matched’ 20% or more from alternative sources. In February 2023, in the midst of a hectically wild season, I submitted a federal grant application on behalf of Restorations thinking that we wouldn't receive it, but also knowing that we couldn't get what we didn't apply for. Just over a year ago, I was notified that we were successful in our grant application. Elated, I went to the grant agreement form and was confused by the funding amount provided. I experienced something I'm betting I won't get to experience again in my fund development career: the grant we received was *twice* the amount I had requested. When I called the foundation issuing the grant, I told them they had made a mistake with the amount, and they responded that they saw such a great need for what Restorations Second Stage Homes was doing, they wanted to give us those extra funds so we could really dive into this work. So just over a year ago, we began the project “Revitalizing Restorations’ governance strength and planning for continued growth.” The grant from the Community Services Recovery Fund allowed us to: → Evaluate and update our current governance policies, and → Develop an organizational strategic plan. Today we shared this strategic plan publicly. As we dive into the next 5 years of continuing to support survivors of human trafficking and exploitation, our strategic direction is focused on "strengthening the support network for survivors through increased visibility, capacity, partnerships, strong governance, solid infrastructure and diversified funding." I have learned so much about governance and organizational development this year. My brain and my heart are full. I look forward to the project being wrapped up this week and reporting to the funder next month about what we have achieved over the last year to strengthen and grow the organization to better support survivors.
