Do you support unaccompanied children arriving in the UK? If so, our capacity-building training ‘Journey with an Unaccompanied child’ is for you! To make a real difference for all unaccompanied children arriving in the UK, it is crucial that organisations, communities and individuals understand how to provide the best welcome and care. Exploring the challenges unaccompanied children face on their often dangerous journeys, the training builds a greater understanding of how these experiences may shape their behaviour and needs, and how we can support them best. Definitely would recommend this to anyone or any organisation that would benefit from advocacy and political communications training. Basing this recommendation on the training sessions I previously attended with Ronan Kennedy, it's sure to be highly informative and useful. #UpSkill #FreeTraining
Are you a civil society/community/voluntary organisation? Would you benefit from free advocacy and political communication training? Then this is for you! A few months ago, the Irish Council for Civil Liberties launched our Rochtain project. With funding from St Stephen's Green Trust we sought to address a critical unmet need in Irish civil society through the provision of free advocacy support and political comms training to organisations who would not be able to afford to pay for this privately or did not have staff capacity. The initial trainings were provided online and the feedback has been great. Now we're taking the show on the road! Over the next few months we're planning to arrange in-person group trainings around the country for smaller and grassroots organisations. This training will be tailored to needs of the groups present and responsive to their needs. If you are interested in signing up or know someone who might like to attend, please share the below needs assessment with them and we'll be in touch! https://lnkd.in/end_m2Pt

🌟 Excited to be a member of Children in Wales 📚💡 Over the weekend I took some time to think about how I can be a better consultant to both my candidates and clients. After a bit of scrolling through Linkedin, I came across Children in Wales an organisation that works closely with Welsh Government and others in Wales to ensure that children's rights are at the forefront of policy and decision making. Why have I became a member? 1) Candidate attraction 🎓 - In order to correctly qualify and attract care professional's with the experience Randstad requires, I need to be up to date with the latest information within the industry. 2) To Consult 🤝 - In most industries, a consultant is someone who is at the top of their specialism, someone who is knowledgeable and informed. In order to improve my ability to consult, I need to be involved in the conversations and changes within the industry. 3) Candidate Retention 💪 - Retaining our experienced staff members in a competitive industry is key! By building and improving my knowledge, I am able to have deeper conversations & understand the role my staff perform day in day out and also provide them with updates and new insight within the industry that they may not be aware of. 4) Passion 🔥 - I care deeply about the industry I work in. With my experience as a young carer, my own personal journey, listening to the stories and observing the efforts of my staff working with young people; I feel it is my duty to be involved in the conversations and developments and to not just be passionate, but to be informed. Really looking forward to embarking on this journey to build my knowledge and be more involved in the industry. 😁 #childrenincare #residentialchildcare #randstad #childrenarethefuture #childrensservices #childreninwales

ASSOCIATION BOARD MEMBER EDUCATION & TRAINING This made the Community Associations Institute's 2024 Policy Priority List. The narrative includes: Community association board members are faced with increasing responsibility to navigate compliance with local, state, and federal laws and greater complexities within communities; especially with the aging infrastructure and with a greater number of people living in community associations. As these volunteer roles become more complex, legislators are looking for solutions to ensure volunteers have the property training and education to fulfill their responsibilities. As such, more states are considering mandatory education requirements for board members. CAI currently opposes mandatory board member education and supports board member education as a best practice. This policy and these issues will likely evolve this year and into the coming years.
