Two teams, taking Business Studies at A-level, entered the CIPFA Sixth Form Management Games last week. This year the focus of the competition was the problems facing a fictitious university. The interactive business simulation game gave pupils an insight into the issues facing public sector organisations, particularly those of a financial nature. It also allowed participants to explore the challenges of teamwork, leadership and management within the world of work. Huge thanks to Holly Hancock CIPFA for arranging and facilitating and to Keele Business School, Keele University for hosting. #HabsAdamsBusinesss

Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD). The Toastmaster of the Day is the master of ceremonies in a Toastmasters meeting. They are responsible to plan and execute the event, ensuring everyone stays within their time limits. A theme is usually selected to create a cohesive experience. For our meeting #481, Toastmaster Rasheed Khan took the role of TMOD. He chose a very interesting theme "Fun with Hobbies". He meticulously planned his role by contacting all role players, getting their introductions, and creating a script that weaved the meeting around the chosen theme. The theme allowed our table topics master Iffat Aslam to choose topics around this fun subject resulting in maximum participation from the guests. Rasheed ensured every segment of the meeting started at the precise time listed on the agenda. Well done. As mentioned by our club President Nameti Akpan "Thank you for such a fun and interesting theme. You excelled greatly in your role. Thank you for seamlessly piloting the meeting. Please do this again. It can only get better." #masterofceremonies #toastmasters #toastmastersinternational #publicspeaking #leadership #teamwork #collaboration

We were all very enthusiastic and positively surprised by the methodology of WIAL. It was a structured, respectful and well-organized session for the design of a National Reconciliation Plan among the members of the Board at Peruvian Red Cross. #ActionLearning I am proud to be a WIAL certified Action Learning Coach! We use Action & Learning on a regular basis. Not, sure? Read the article about what ACTION LEARNING is. Are you looking for a good opportunity to raise the game? You have a business/team challenge, and you are at a point where you don't know how to solve it? With Action Learning, you can create an action plan for your case! What is Action Learning? It is a process of team or group problem solving (ACTION) that simultaneously develops personal competence and team effectiveness (LEARNING). It is inspiring to come up with your own ideas and solutions you never thought of. If you are stuck in your career or at a dead end in your life, the ability to ask the right questions is exactly what you need. Working in a workshop with 4-6 people. You take part in a process with people who have a variety of skills and experience. You solve a problem that is --> real, --> important, --> urgent and --> complex. In addition to the topic you want to work on, you choose a competency to work on. How it works? At the beginning of the workshop, we choose a presenter to discuss his or her problem. We seek solutions through open-ended questions posed by the team to the presenter. We have a round of team feedback. All statements can be made in response to questions. We ask open-ended questions to stimulate creativity. Create an action plan for the presenter. Benefits for the presenter/team as personal and organizational learning. It is up to the presenter to decide what type of work is most appropriate (e.g., brainstorming). The success of a well-solved problem is hidden in a good written definition. We work on the principle that a job well began is a job half done. A well-defined problem helps the presenter define his or her expectations. Action Learning works well in: Providing solutions. Building intrinsic motivation and commitment. Developing leaders and talent. Building effective teams. Managing change. Implementing post-training competencies. Building a culture based on talking about problems and conducting effective meetings. Testimonials of participants: “Great contact across the departments, I learnt a lot about way of work.” "Kamila, I want to congratulate you on the "Action Learning” idea. At the beginning I was skeptical, and after a few sessions (as a participant) I learned a lot from the workshops, including ready-made ideas to apply. As an action learning coach, you have always been focused on searching for the best solution for the benefit of the participants of the training courses. I also want to thank you for your commitment and ordering the process. I believe that your strength, even a "competitive advantage”, is the knowledge and ease of use of tools and possibilities." “Great experience, helped me with the presented case. Looking forward to the next session.” “I was surprised by amount of positive energy and support I was given as a case giver. Thank you!”

Principal and Chartered Surveyor @ Reappraise Consulting Ltd | PFI expert and Strategic Asset Management.
We believe very strongly that safe, welcoming, well cared for, attractive and inspirational premises that are working as they should have a massive impact on productivity, feelings of belonging, attitude and behaviour. Estate managers are often unsung heroes and we'd love everyone to realise just how much hard work goes into keeping an asset like an #academy or #hospital in tip top condition, especially with current financial constraints. #estatemanagement
🌱🎓 Empowering Academies Behind the Scenes! 🚀💡 Educating young minds is crucial, but perhaps surprisingly for some people, great leadership in estates and buildings plays an equal role.
