When I worked for a famous entrepreneur, many clamored to gain internships with him. Yet we had no formal structure and they were not paid so no dignity was given to the person delivering value to the company. It could have been so much more valuable for us and for them had we been able to utilize the framework now available in Robert J. Khoury's second recent book Intern Management. Make a resolution for your company to improve through successful internships.

🚀 Reflecting on my first year as an entrepreneur as we approach the end of 2023! Here are some key takeaways: 1️⃣ Many things that seemed scary or intimidating were entirely doable. Like exercise, sometimes the hardest step is just committing to show up. 2️⃣ Introverts can be hustlers too. As an introvert, I struggle to put myself out there, network, and ask for help. But as an entrepreneur, I must go outside my comfort zone to be successful. You never know where your next lead may come from! 3️⃣ Imposter syndrome is real. As an entrepreneur, your business is a reflection of you, so it is hard not to feel self-doubt when faced with challenges. Surrounding yourself with cheerleaders who remind you of your worth and value is critical. 4️⃣ Being an entrepreneur is a rollercoaster, but the highs are well worth it. Every win is so much more meaningful when you own the business. Suffice to say, I love being my own boss. I look forward to the many ups and downs and learnings to come in 2024! Happy Holidays! 🎉 #Entrepreneurship #bosslady
Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season! ❄ 🎁

🎇 Happy Birthday America. 🇺🇸 As we celebrate our nation’s 248th birthday, it seems fitting for me to remind you that … YOU honestly have no clue what YOU are capable of. And we can be assured that in 1776, those folks had no clue as well. But that did not stop them; and look what happened. 😊 There is so much I could share from this point, but here’s what I have for today. 🌭 Make peace with the bad parts of your career. No job is perfect. 🍔 Be a life-long learner of things. There has never been an easier time to up-skill. You can find online courses for less than a meal out. 🌽 Be curious – about everything. You can’t improve outcomes if you don’t explore options. 🍉 Tackle fear and discomfort. See them as a part of the risk for growth. 🍦 The world will not get you at times. They may not share your vision of yourself. That's okay. 🍻 Meet problems with “how can this work” not that it won’t. Like the building of our nation; there are bad parts of the job, but we have learned along the way, been curious enough to grow, tackled our fears, weathered much discomfort, and still, not everyone gets us. Happy 4th Everyone.

It's flown and been the most stressful year of my life. Even more stressful than COVID, Zoom schooling, husband starting his business, dying parent, switching schools a third time. There is nothing like the stress of doing your own thing and putting yourself out there. Your name. Your reputation. And decimating your family's income while working 7 days a week. It's soul crushing at times. And then it's joyous an hour later. It's psychotic. And of course I wouldn't change it for the world. We've helped so many women already. Cried with them. Laughed together. We know about their stress at work. We've helped them get their resumes together. Found them marital counseling. Psychologists for their kids. Someone to de-clutter their homes. Assisted living for dad. Squeezed them in for a faster doctors appointment due to a scare. We know their struggles and their anxiety. And we know they're just like us. We've also helped them throw countless birthday parties. Graduation parties. Go on anniversary trips. Plan travel to see Taylor Swift in concert with their daughters. Send food to a sick friend. Surprise friends with flowers. Book beach houses for their extended families. Get dog trainers for their new puppies. We've helped them make memories and celebrate this crazy thing called life. We've also helped them with the mundane. Meal planning. Laundry. Childcare. Tutors. Roof leaks. Faucet leaks. Door locks. Car repairs. The real un-sexy stuff of adulting that still has to get done even though you're stuck in a meeting. I've made lots of mistakes in the past year including one really big one that I'll forever carry forward with me as we grow this company. But you learn more from the mistakes than the successes especially when you are the one who personally made them. I'm sure there are many more I've made and just haven't realized it yet. Many more to come if I'm lucky enough to keep doing this. Thank you to those who have supported me this past year. Some publicly. Some privately. Some checking in on me by text. You never forget those people. Never. Time to go help these women.
