Executive Vice President of Europe Operations - Member of the Executive Committee at Schneider Electric; Board member of AirFrance KLM; Conseiller au Commerce Exterieur de la France
Have you heard the news? Schneider Electric has just been named the World’s Most Sustainable Company by TIME and Statista 🎉 In the last year, the number of Fortune Global 500 companies with a significant climate commitment has stagnated at around 66% even as emissions rise. At this critical time, @Schneider Electric maintains its leadership position on sustainability. This achievement reflects the dedicated hearts and minds that make up our global #SchneiderElectric team. Together, we: ✅ Help customers save and avoid 800 million tonnes of CO2 from 2021 to 2025 ✅ Reduce 50% of CO2 emissions from our top 1,000 suppliers’ operations from 2021 to 2025 ✅ Offer opportunities for people to gain green skills through training and mentorship programs. Through our Schneider Electric Foundation we are committed to training 1 million people by 2025. ✅ Have helped 35 million people to get access to energy through microgrid installations and solar power solutions Sustainability is at the heart of our business’ strategy, operations, and culture. This means making it a core part of our partners and customers’ operations too. To give you an example: under Schneider’s Energize program, we’re collaborating with 12 global pharmaceutical companies to engage hundreds of suppliers to decarbonize the value chain. The program recruited 369 suppliers in its first year, representing 22.1 terawatt hours of electricity demand. The program is a first-of-its-kind effort to leverage the scale of a single industry’s global supply chain to drive system-level change. A study from Climate Impact Partners found that companies who reported annual emissions reductions also profited about $1 billion more than their peers – so there is a clear business case for change too. 1moSE continues to lead the way on so many fronts. I am grateful for having been part of the Schneider Electric sustainability journey - contributing as the first solutions VP of Green Buildings in 2010, and working in the early days of Smart Cities. So many great colleagues, and leaders who truly care.
