I’ve been lucky enough to attend both #TaylorSwift’s and Dua Lipa’s tour this year, and I had such an incredible time at both! 🎸 I’m inspired by the growing list of incredible women encouraging the next generation to reach for the stars through their music and careers. Their success also demonstrates the global influence and impact of the music industry today – Taylor Swift’s ticket sales for her Eras Tour brought in £1 billion to the UK economy, and similar boosts have been seen in Europe and around the world as she tours. #DuaLipa has used her platform to speak out about important sociopolitical issues, and she even runs a book club to engage with her fans through reading.  Just as in sports, the music and entertainment industry has significant potential to promote the message of sustainability to society. It can set an example by using renewable energy for stage lighting and printing programs on recycled paper. Moreover, it can integrate sustainability into exhibitions and performances. Given the current influence of music performers and their ability to attract large audiences, there is a substantial opportunity to make a positive impact through music events, not only socially and politically but also environmentally. Coldplay's 2022 world tour exemplifies this. By employing renewable energy for equipment such as amplifiers and dance floors, #Coldplay managed to reduce CO2 emissions by nearly half compared to their previous tour. Additionally, through their charity partnership, they committed to planting 5 million trees. We don't have to give up what we love to be more sustainable. With today's technological solutions, there are alternative ways to reduce our environmental impact in industries like music and sports.    #Music #Sustainability #EnergyEfficiency

Hi Gwenaelle! In South America at least, some of fhe greatest artists produce events with renewable energy supply. The company responsible for the power supply is www.entropiaargentina.com.ar (webpage mainly in Spanish). They combine B100 biodiesel 100% with solar power and batteries and digital control systems as the system is always offgrid. Then, the supply is 100% zero emissions. In case you want more info, just send me a message and put you in contact with them.

Gwenaelle, we are embarking on a new era of #SustainableEntertainment I attended Coldplay's concert and they reported that, as of June 3, 2024, the tour's direct CO2e emissions were 59% lower than their previous stadium tour (2016-17), per show (https://lnkd.in/dKpNNBKM). These numbers were verified by the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative and it is just Amazing!!

Cannot agree more. I embarked with my teenage daughter a #swiftie and I have been amazed to see how positive emotions are contagious between people. I remember an article in Psychology magazine a few months earlier which was titled “Listening to this artist could preserve our mental health according to researchers.” The positive impact of Taylor Swift's music on mental health can be explained by several factors: * Lyrical authenticity * Sense of belonging * Intergenerational bond * Comfort and emotional resonance * Emotional exploration * Mental health awareness * Inspirational Messages #positiveimpact #musicotherapy #wellbeing

It seems obvious…but only now that you mentioned. Sustainability is a daily attitude and mindset, that should embed our everyday actions. This new artistic generation (or at least some) can influence people around the globe for a more positive, meaningful and sustainable world. Thank you for being such an inspiring leader, Gwen!
