🌟 Sneak Peak: The Decision-Making Mindset 🌟 Here's a process developed to help professionals achieve a clear and focused mindset for making effective decisions. This framework is part of my newest keynote and workshop on decision-making, designed for professionals interested in making better decisions: - Accept: Acknowledge that you’re feeling anxious about the decision. - Assess: Evaluate your level of discomfort and identify its sources. - Identify: Pinpoint the perceived threats contributing to your anxiety. - Predict: Recognize any negative self-talk that might cloud your judgment. - Confront: Face your doubts and challenge them head-on. - Learn: Observe the situation without judgment to gather unbiased insights. - Detach: Separate yourself from the potential future outcomes to maintain objectivity. Each step is simple, but not necessarily easy, and we discuss how to successfully go through the process. It helps one prepare mentally and emotionally to tackle complex choices with confidence. Making restless or impulsive decisions in process can lead to various consequences. Here are some tips to manage and avoid restless decision-making: 1. Gather Information: Ensure you have all relevant information before making a decision. This includes data, feedback from team members, and market research. 2. Evaluate Options: Consider all possible options and their potential outcomes. Use decision-making frameworks like SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). 3. Set Clear Objectives: Understand the goals you aim to achieve with the decision. Clear objectives can guide and align your decision-making process. 4. Take Your Time: Avoid rushing into decisions. If time allows, take a step back to reflect and reconsider your options. 5. Seek Advice: Consult with trusted colleagues, mentors, or advisors who can provide different perspectives and insights. 6. Assess Risks: Identify potential risks associated with each option and consider how to mitigate them. 7. Learn from Experience: Reflect on past decisions and their outcomes to improve your decision-making process. 8. Stay Calm:Maintain a calm and focused mindset. # Understanding the Impact of Self-Awareness on Decision Making # Ever wonder why some decisions lead to success while others backfire? Here are a few pointers on how a lack of self-awareness can impact our decision-making skills: Blind Spots: Without self-awareness, we may overlook our blind spots, leading to decisions based on incomplete information or biased perspectives. Emotional Biases: Emotions play a significant role in decision-making. Lacking self-awareness can make us susceptible to emotional biases, such as overconfidence or fear, which can cloud judgment. Poor Communication: Inability to understand our own communication style and its impact on others can lead to misunderstandings and ineffective decision-making processes within teams or organizations. Inconsistent Goals: Without self-awareness, we may struggle to align our decisions with our values and long-term goals, leading to inconsistency and uncertainty in our actions. Limited Growth: Lack of self-awareness hinders personal and professional growth by preventing us from recognizing areas for improvement and learning from our experiences. Let's prioritize self-awareness to enhance our decision-making skills and achieve greater success! In conclusion, I find myself in a whole new world, equipped with an upgraded version of ME. I've discovered the key to unlocking success and happiness: UNDERSTANDING MY WORTH. 😊 So what are you waiting for? #SelfAwareness #DecisionMaking #Success #emotionalintelligence #emotionalwellbeing #Svadhyayastudyofself

Whether we like it or not emotions matter in a business setting. Emotions are what fuel behaviors and productive behavior is what sets a successful company apart from those that fail. #emotionalintelligence has a utilitarian nature to it. Our decisions impact ourselves and our people. Everything we do in a day is a decision. From what we eat for breakfast to how we choose to treat someone. It can work for or against us. Applied emotional intelligence is what makes for better decision making because we make choices that lead to the greatest impact with the least resistance all while mitigating any fallout or damage. “You are a sum of all your choices” - Andrew Ryan --- I'm a firm believer strategy is simply making choices. We all make choices; sometimes consciously, often unconsciously. And it's these unconscious choices that lead companies down a path of unchoiceful strategy; leading to workload overload and firefighting. What defines good strategy, at least in part, is ensuring your choices are intentional. Intentionality is being deliberate and purposive. Making conscious choices against the reality of the market and your business capabilities, aligned to long-term ambitions. Intentional is the 1st I in my "5 I's of Great Strategy". Any guesses what the 2nd I is? #strategy #principles

When I talk to enterprise CEOs, there's always some apprehension around 'strategy'. And the fact is, when I talk to their C Suite, it's rarely what they envisaged it would be. Whilst the strategy isn't 'failing' - neither is it winning. What I wanted to share here, was a resource for those of you who want to understand WHY it's failing (and you can download that from www.mrjoe.uk/modernCEO). There are negative emotions associated with each and every root cause - and by looking at those, you can diagnose what's directly causing the strategy to fail.... ... likewise, if you KNOW you're weak in any given area, as you begin implementing the change... you can use this framework to look for the tell-tale symptoms that are a sign for you to do something about it. Regardless of the challenge - Vision, Skills, Resources and Incentives... the problem is a human one. A PEOPLE one. And as with all these things, if it's a 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 problem, it's a 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 fix, too. I'd love to hear from any of my network in change management on this one... what's been your experience? Have you witnesses these failings? How did it impact on the strategy? Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts! ___ #CEO #Founder #Tech #Retail #Coaching If you like my content, ring the bell on my profile to ensure you see more!
