At GrowNYC, we believe in the power of partnerships to create meaningful change. Recently, we teamed up with Pernod Ricard for an incredible day dedicated to social impact. Their passionate employees dove into discussions on rainwater systems, urban design, and the art of seed saving and packaging. Together, we rolled up our sleeves for hands-on projects that directly benefit NYC's community gardens — sorting seeds, painting rain collection barrels, and building Free Little Libraries. It was a day filled with learning, teamwork, and making a real difference in our city. Looking to get involved? Join us in making a positive impact! Short-term, transactional volunteering events or activities often fail to achieve meaningful results - that is, when they aren't tied to a broader, year-long strategy. On their own, these kinds of events are not a viable impact strategy. So how do we make them worth our time and effort? There are several programmatic elements that are required to be in place if you want to see "real results" from your Social Impact program. What do we mean by "real results"? To name a few... 👍 Increasing positive brand sentiment 🙋♀️ Driving a culture of volunteerism 🤝 Increasing diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices So, do you have these 3 essential elements driving real results in your program? 🤔 If not, we'd love to help, but feel free to start off with this blog: https://lnkd.in/gmD2yuHg

Meet our latest ChangeLeader: Jesper Richter Rasmussen 👋 Jesper is Lead Community Engagement Specialist at GRUNDFOS. He is leading impact in the corporate world through his work and empowering others to do so too: ⭐️ What do you do? "I work with Community Engagement through various means: I'm responsible for our corporate volunteering strategy, focusing on water, climate and people, I sit with our Community Grants that all Grundfos colleagues can apply for on behalf of local organizations, I'm responsible for our employee program Water2Life" ⭐️ Why did you start? "It's important that you can find meaning in your job. For me that meant working in this field and doing my best to convince and persuade others to give it a go as well. I am driven by the impact 'the many' can do; the ripples we can create if we want to." ⭐️ How has We Make Change helped your company make impact? "Fantastic Change Days were offered to several of our teams, where they got the opportunity to shine in a different setting. In a global company it will be necessary to find meaningful online volunteer options, and We Make Change provides that." ⭐️ Why would you recommend We Make Change to other companies? "I definitely would! It requires that you commit to it as well and come prepared, but the rewards you can reap are incredible. I highly recommend it!" It's been inspiring for us to see Jesper and his Grundfos colleagues make so much impact by volunteering remotely through We Make Change! 👏 Thank you Jesper for showing what it means to be a ChangeLeader 🙌 #sustainability #sdgs #csr #esg #employeevolunteering #volunteering
