AI and IVF: A fertility doctor’s insight into the future of reproductive medicine: Dr. Amber Cooper believes AI can automate manual steps and other computer-mediated processes, resulting in more efficiency, even lower costs, thereby increasing access to IVF for more people. If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a medical army to create one for infertile couples. http://dlvr.it/T9Y563

IVF has become a significant part of fertility care these days; however, its invention began long ago in a laboratory. Imagine the early days, where the first breakthroughs in IVF felt like scenes from a science fiction novel. Over time, these pioneering efforts evolved, and today, IVF stands as a remarkable achievement in reproductive medicine. As we trace IVF's journey, we see how each milestone has unlocked new possibilities for individuals and couples facing infertility challenges. From those initial breakthroughs to the sophisticated techniques, we have now, IVF has transformed countless lives, offering hope where there once was none. The more recent chapter in this story is particularly exciting. The integration of AI in IVF represents a fusion of biology and technology, exemplifying how interdisciplinary approaches can drive medical innovations. Looking ahead, it's fascinating to consider what further developments might emerge. Will we see even more personalized treatments? How will AI play a role as medicine advances? #fertility #IVF #Timeline #InnovationInHealthcare #AI #FertilityTech

#Infertility is now at 1-in-6 couples worldwide… IVF is one of several options couples have to support them. Demand is rising massively and therefore we need to optimise and personalise treatment as best we can to increase access to people that need it most. It was great to be able to attend the American Society for Reproductive Medicine - ASRM 2023 conference in New Orleans this year. I presented our latest research using machine learning to suggest novel criteria in IVF treatment protocols, hopefully to benefit patients and their success during what is both a physically and mentally-demanding procedure. AI seems to be everywhere...including assisted reproductive technology! Daniella Gilboa was working on her PhD research when she realized the potential of data and AI in improving IVF care. She quickly transitioned from the world of academia to leading a start-up company. The company, AIVF, is already in some fertility clinics and the technology is helping embryologists with embryo selection (among other things), empowering patients to be able to see the data associated with their embryos, and, as she puts it, "use digital transformation to allow clinics to be more efficient, more accurate, more accessible, shorten the time to pregnancy, and meet the growing demand". Listen to learn how although the demand for IVF has grown in the past 45 years, the clinics haven't changed--until now! Click to listen! https://lnkd.in/gS-kDd4y
