🇵🇹 When compared to the rest of Europe, Portuguese charging infrastructure struggles to keep up, yet, of the southern countries, it ranks in the top of most metrics. ⬆️ In 2023, it experienced only the 24th highest increase in charge points. 🚙 For share of new car sales, it ranked 13th (18%). 🔌 They have the fifth highest share of fast chargers, but land at 27 for ultra fast. ⚡️ The southern regions of the Algarve and Alentejo have the best distribution of charge points per capita, followed by the capital, Lisbon. 🚗 When looking at the top operators in the country, Portugal is one of the few in our report to not include Tesla. Instead, the top five operators are: EDP, Galp, Powerdot, Atlante and KLC. 👉 Learn more when you download our latest Charging Report 2024: https://hubs.li/Q02s3C6J0 #EVcharging #smartcharging #charginginfrastructure #emobility #EVs #electriccars

🇳🇴 What's Norway's charging infrastructure like? ✨ In a word: remarkable. 🏆 The Scandinavian country is the undisputed leader when it comes: ✅ BEV adoption per capita (almost double the number of the second place country, Iceland) ✅ Capacity per capita (again, almost double Iceland) ✅ Average charging speed (+15% on Liechtenstein) 🥈 In terms of charge points per capita, it comes second to the Netherlands. 🚗⚡️In Europe, it has the highest share of fast chargers and the fourth highest share of slow chargers. 🏁 When looking at the top operators for charge points and capacity, the same five are on both lists (although in different orders): Kople, Mer, Eviny, Recharge and Tesla. 🚀 See how Norway compares to the rest of Scandinavia in our 2024 Charge Report: https://hubs.li/Q02s3C6J0 #EVcharging #smartcharging #charginginfrastructure #emobility #EVs #electriccars

🇫🇷 What's France's charging infrastructure like? 🚙 Currently, the country has the 3rd highest absolute number of public charge points in Europe, yet it drops to 11th place when accounting for population. ⚡️🔌 They have the highest share of slow chargers in Europe, although there are signs of change with DC chargers increasing by 125% in 2023 (AC only increased by 34%). ❓There is less variation in charge point distribution per capita across the country. 🏆 Of the top 5 operators in the country, Renault Group has a clear lead in the number of charge points, but drops behind TotalEnergies Energies for capacity and has a small margin over Tesla (who focused more on superchargers). Joining these three companies as the top French CPOs are Bouygues, DRIVECO and Freshmile. 🙌 Interested in learning more about the state of charging infrastructure in Europe? 🚗 Europe is embracing the future of transport. As of 2023, European sales accounted for 23% of all electric vehicles (EV) sold, with this figure expected to reach 50% by 2027. But there are some geographical disparities: In 2023, around 78% of Europe’s charging infrastructure was located in just seven countries: the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden. Read our latest report with Eurelectric to gain an insight into the future of EVs in Europe. 🔋🔌 Full report available here: https://go.ey.com/3VnYmvF #EV #ElectricVehicle #eMobility #eVision #BetterWorkingWorld #EYUK

We recently released our 2023 Global E-Mobility Readiness Index (GEMRIX), which measured progress toward preparedness for electric vehicle (EV) adoption in 35 countries across all continents. With EVs make up 88 percent of all new cars sold in 2022, Norway maintains its position as the global leader in EV readiness, but China has joined it in the top Global Benchmark category. A second group (Ambitious Followers), which includes Germany, the UK, and Singapore, is on the verge of EVs becoming mainstream, while countries such as the US, Japan, United Arab Emirates, and India make up the Emerging EV Markets category. In those markets, the intent to increase EV adoption is recognizable and supported by government initiatives, but charging infrastructure or vehicle availability still needs to be improved. The final group (Starters), which includes, for example, South Africa, Turkey, and Malaysia, are still very early in their EV journey, with adoption held back by high cost of ownership and a nascent EV ecosystem. Nissan Motor Corporation has just dropped a new video that depicts their vision of #V2X — and it’s a future where our relationship with energy is transformed by the smart management of clean power. It’s a future that isn’t so far away. > https://lnkd.in/euGqmgZQ The automaker promises a world in which trading a little EV energy goes a long way, shaving 40% from your electricity bill annually. Consider the present reality: grid operators are warning that they are struggling to keep up with rising demand for electricity. > https://lnkd.in/epJHwDTF [Matthew Glynn | The Buffalo News] The energy needed to fill the gap might just be on your roof, or in your driveway, waiting to be unlocked. There’s where decentralized energy resources (DERs) come into the picture. DERs like solar are booming, with 35% annual growth thanks in part to support from the federal government’s Inflation Reduction Act. In fact, the US now has more than 161 gigawatts of cumulative installed solar electric capacity, enough to power more than 27 million American homes while offsetting more than 169 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions. > https://lnkd.in/eaYDr5VJ [Solar Energy Industries Association] EVs are an especially big part of the picture. They have been vital in the transportation sector’s effort to decarbonize, and with the #COP28 summit in the books, will continue to be for decades to come. > https://lnkd.in/er8sWpmf [David Leggett | just-auto.com | The automotive industry news & information site] Their batteries are also a form of DER. The next step will be managing DERs like solar and storage in a way that benefits everyone from utilities to individual homeowners. You’ve heard of the Internet of Things — now there’s what scientists are calling the Internet of Energy. It’s how everything from your rooftop solar panels to the EV in your garage are being integrated through wireless networks and artificial intelligence that can juggle your needs in a way that you could never do manually. > https://lnkd.in/ez3QzPEa [Madeleine Clarke (she/her) | CSIRO] And when you put it all together, the result is what Nissan explores in its video: big-picture clean energy that makes your life easier.

According to recent statistics released by the SIMI - Society of the Irish Motor Industry, year-to-date, EV sales are 46.1% higher than this time last year. This means that there are currently over 120,000 EVs on the road, compared to over 104,000 during the same period in 2022. We believe that Ireland is on track to see approximately 25,000 new EV registrations by the end of the year. EVs now represent 18.5% of the new car market and our team anticipates another strong year in 2024. The EasyGo platform is a vital asset in supporting the rapid growth of e-mobility, providing more than 55,000 EV drivers access to our network of over 4,000 charge points across the island of Ireland.
