Time to re-engineer our healthcare services and for everyone to be involved in this process.
🔵 The whole health & care system in the UK needs re-engineering 🔵
For too long it has been structured around a class bias & patetnalism, with rampant cronyism in its higher echelons.
A fortune is wasted on vanity projects, endless reviews which do not involve the people they need to (i.e. patients , carers, parents & relatives) and do not lead to action. There's also club culture which hands out 'jobs for the boys' - excluding & blacklisting anyone who speaks up against this. All at great cost to the public.
In addition duplication is commonplace, at the same time many excellent projects have not spread across the system.
⭕️The good news is that the people who can achieve the required change are already here, either working in services or in a position where they could be encouraged to return. ⭕️
Combine action on all this with genuine patient inclusion at all levels, including on Boards, and we have amazing opportunities ahead.

Life-saving in healthcare is fundamentally important Wes Streeting . This should encompasses a wide range of practices, eg emergency interventions to preventive measures, aimed at preserving life, improving patient outcomes, and enhancing the quality of care. This includes advancements in medical technology, access to care, and healthcare policies that ensure equitable treatment for all.
Start with preventative and proactive care . Increase the funding for #publichealthgrants. Secondly increase funding to #primarycare, they need your support. Thirdly, ensure #digitaltransformation, is front and centre for health, social and VSCE. Forthly ensure #Candidacy is brought to the forefront to provide a holistic perspective on access to care. How people identify themselves as candidates for healthcare, is no longer clear for many generation. Speaking with a GP friend today, she is constantly dealing with patients who demand to see a GP but don’t have medical needs.
Create a NHS candidacy plan, that brings together, identification of candidacy, navigation, permeability of services, appearances at health services, adjudications, offers and resistance, and operating conditions

The notion that healthcare workers' fitness is frozen in time the day they start, as if they can't fall ill, age, or gain weight, is absurd. There are simple ways to mitigate these concerns: provide breaks and access to proper nourishment so they don't rely on unhealthy snacks, ensure adequate staffing levels, foster respect from both the public and employers, pay them enough to avoid food banks and housing instability, and offer them access to healthcare when they need it.
This article, however, doesn't aim to provide solutions or improve the situation. Instead, it shifts blame onto nurses and doctors, further demoralising an already strained workforce. This narrative further fuels the exodus of healthcare professionals, allowing critics to falsely proclaim the NHS is irreparably broken due to "lazy, fat" staff. Bring on the private providers to "rescue it", conveniently missing that so many parts of the NHS is already in the hands of private companies, staffed by there very same health care providers.

If anyone reads this article you may also want to read a far more educated and informed paper from the #SOM in the comments. mary dejevsky it would be interesting to know how (from an evidenced base) the observed weight of a healthcare worker affects their fitness to work, what has informed the your opinion the lack of resilience in the NHS healthcare workers is a significant issue? It is these types of uninformed personal judgements publicised that also add into the despair and hopelessness that many (not all) NHS healthcare staff experience. I am very pleased the author was able to benefit from the NHS free healthcare service and hope she gave appreciation to the staff.
The advert is hard hitting. It reveals the emotional pain and despair of some NHS healthcare workers.

People in #Devon need to be aware of this ➡️
Whether in her role as a GP, MP or more recently in chairing #NHS Devon, Sarah Wollaston has always struck me as someone committed to her principles and focused on supporting local people.
If our local NHS services are at such a stage that the people charged with leading them are standing down from their roles because they simply cannot justify the choices they have to make then we are not in a good place.
In Sarah's own word these choices are "only achievable with unacceptable consequences". That means the health and well-being of our local people and communities. We already know that austerity has made people less well and yet we're still pushing through financial 'savings' which are short term and short sighted.
Owning my bias - young people in Devon have become less well at a dramatic rate over the last few years. More "savings" will have a negative impacts for years to come and will cost us more.
Not just a rant - when people are canvassing on your doorsteps ask them what they're going to do. Not the platitudes, not the £350M lies but an actual plan.

When it comes to long-term care, seniors in Florida face a tough reality.
📊 Statistically, 7 out of 10 people will need some type of long-term care. The cost of nursing homes and assisted living facilities are astronomical and rise every year. Most families don’t know that there are programs available in Florida to help pay for a loved one’s nursing home care.
💼 Our attorneys use every legal tool available to craft a plan that will allow you to protect your assets and still qualify for a Medicaid program specifically created to assist in paying for your long-term care needs.

Do you know the six activities of daily living commonly known as ADLs?
Understanding these six daily activities could be the key to unlocking the care your senior loved one truly needs. They're crucial when assessing whether a senior can live independently.
• Bathing
• Dressing
• Toileting
• Continence
• Transferring
• Feeding
These ADLs can guide you in deciding whether to hire in-home companion care or consider an assisted living facility or respite care for your loved one. Long-term care (LTC) policies may be based on these ADLs. If your loved one needs assistance with at least two of these activities, you may be able to start a claim against an LTC policy. Once the need is identified, the LTC company typically sends a nurse to evaluate. The assessment is then used to decide if the policy can be activated and if your loved one can start receiving financial support.
Remember—understanding these ADLs can be the important first step in ensuring your loved one receives the care they need. Please provide your comments below. Let’s connect for a more in-depth discussion.
