“How do you optimize an asset that exists today and turn it into something great for tomorrow?” This morning, X Machina Capital Strategies' President of Private Markets, Catherine Flax, joins David Greely for the 'Future of Energy' series finale to talk transforming today’s #oil and #gas assets and #energymarket infrastructure to meet the needs of a more sustainable future. In the episode, Flax tells Greely: 🗯️ "What we've observed is that we still live in a very siloed world when it comes to thinking about #energy needs and managing energy assets. We have one foot in the 'old world' of 'let's just run our oil and gas assets as we've done' and then there's a whole new world of 'let's do hydrogen; let's do the future; let's take the next steps.' The reality is that we are actually in the middle of all of that. When you think about environmental issues in particular, my view is that our first line of defense is managing our existing #hydrocarbon assets as prudently as possible. If you stop the spills, if you stop the leaks, if you really optimize for what you have today, that's the first step in making things as clean as possible — then there's the march to tomorrow.
