We are pleased to share with you the recording of a highly enlightening and inspiring conversation between Oliver Percovich of Skateistan and Atalanti Moquette that took place on 21 September 2023. The conversation covers the story behind how Skateistan started in Afghanistan and how Skateistan has scaled to operate in Cambodia, South Africa and Jordan. We strongly recommend anyone wishing to start an NGO or scale their current operations to watch this recording. #nonprofits #empoweringwomen #empoweringgirls #empoweringcommunities #womanempowerment #philanthropy #democratizingphilanthropy #redefiningphilanthropy #letsredefinephilanthropy

Strategic Connector & Corporate Synergy Expert | Facilitating High-Impact Alliances & Exclusive Networking Events | Driving Growth Through Professional Partnerships | Transforming Connections into Collaborative Successes
Today I call out to the hearts of all my LinkedIn connections and friends about something close to my heart. A very dear and loving friend has been battling Motor Neuron Disease (MND) for some time, in the link at the end is his story. Those that know about this debilitating disease, will know that it has no prejudice on colour, creed, sex, or social standing. It will just attack! Embarking on a deeply emotional journey, we navigate the heart-wrenching realities of (MND). Picture the gradual loss of mobility, where each step becomes a monumental achievement and simple tasks turn into daily battles. Imagine the frustration of communication barriers, as words slip away and the essence of self-expression fades. Yet, in the midst of this relentless storm, it's the families that bear witness to both the visible and hidden struggles. The emotional toll is immeasurable, weaving a tapestry of resilience, love, and heartache. Amidst this challenging journey, there's a glimmer of hope, and that hope is fueled by your generosity. Your heart-led donations can be the lifeline for those grappling with MND. They can provide essential support for groundbreaking research, offer a helping hand in the provision of care, and contribute to advocacy efforts that strive to improve the lives of those affected. So, let's join hands in this compassionate cause. Let's be the support system that helps families navigate the storm. Your donation, no matter the size, has the power to make a significant impact and bring about positive change. Together, we can transform the narrative surrounding MND and uplift the spirits of those facing its challenges. 💙 Please comment or PM me for more details on how you can help. Thank you https://lnkd.in/emsE9i6p #mnd #everylittlehelps #thankyou

Let's fill the stands🎫 Can you believe it? The number of girls missing out on team sport compared to boys is equivalent to filling out every Premier League Stadium in the country (860,000)🤯 Too many girls are being denied the chance to discover the joy of team sport and learn vital life skills like resilience, leadership and teamwork. This World Cup, we're asking you to help us achieve our vision that no one is excluded from sport's joy, fulfilment and lifelong benefits. We want to #CloseTheTeamSportGap but we can't do it alone.🤝🏼 By becoming a regular giver, you can help support our charity’s work to challenge inequality and inspire change in sport and society. Giving Tuesday We have had Black Friday, which seemed to last a whole month, everywhere you looked there were messages telling you how much you could save. And still they go on. It’s Time to flip that on its head. Life is enriched not by having but giving. For me, Happiness and a meaning to life comes from giving to others, especially those less fortunate than oneself. This is the point of Giving Tuesday. Many charities need you. You can always find one that sparks a real meaning for you. They come in all shapes and sizes, for a huge range of causes. Giving doesn’t just mean money. You can give your time, your energy, or simply your voice to spread awareness. Your support is what they need. One charity I support is Ride For Freedom – A charity that supports survivors of modern slavery. Follow the link here to find out more. https://lnkd.in/eMUEtXpG The weekend of Friday December 1st to Sunday December 3rd is their annual Cycle Revolution event. Lots of people around the country are doing various events to raise funds for their Freewheel programme. The programme supplies cycles to survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery. The aim for the weekend is to supply 200 bikes for the programme. The event page is here https://lnkd.in/e6bDefE5 I am doing my bit for the cause by giving my time and energy over the weekend. On Saturday 2nd December I will be attempting to complete the vEveresting challenge. Riding on Zwift for repeats of the virtual Alpe D’Zwift climb until I reach the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest, 8848 metres of climbing, approximately 9 ascents of the Alpe. On Sunday morning 9am, I will be leading a one hour social ride around a flat course in virtual London on Zwift with Gordon Miller, CEO of Ride For Freedom. This ride is a great opportunity to ride at a social pace and chat on Discord with fellow Zwifters. With Zwift’s magic band function keeping everyone together regardless of power, its the perfect club ride. Opportunities to join me on Saturday exist throughout the day. If you use Zwift and want to ride even a small section of the Alp with me, I would be very grateful of the company. To join, first make sure you are following me on Zwift. My Zwift name is F rosty the snowbear (just search for Snowbear and you should find me). Then use the Ride with a Zwifter option on your home screen and select my name. It will take me at least 12 hours to do this so plenty of opportunity to find me whatever time you are free, your support on the day will be very welcome. Donation page for Ride For Freedom Cycle Event is here https://lnkd.in/eCKCATvQ Please give whatever you can, time, energy, voice or money. Please share this post to add your voice to the cause. #RideForFreedom #Charity #GivingTuesday #ZWIFT #vEveresting #CycleRevolution #EndModernSlavery #Freewheel #ShowARedCard #donatenow #pedalforchange #abolitionofslavery #socialimpact

The past few years have been a whirlwind of emotions and experiences for me from hugely challenging through to extraordinary that have completely changed many of my perspectives on life. I have heard in the past the stages of our life being referred to as the “chapters” and this is a great analogy and what the last few years have taught me is you just can't skip any of your chapters. Some of my chapters have left me feeling stuck or somewhat lost or even heartbroken, while others have been so awesome and enjoyable I never wanted them to end. I think the truth is that we won't enjoy all of them but we have to attempt to get to know all the characters and read every line of our story. My current rollercoaster of a chapter in less than two weeks time on April 6-7th perhaps culimates or maybe is just getting started ( who knows?) when I attempt https://lnkd.in/gTEKrU92 If you are concerned about raising awarness and funds for mental health and looking for a fun activity to do over the weekend of April 6-7th in Sydney, I invited you to come and join me, even it is is just for a short stroll and chat. I think the key for me, maybe for all of us, is that we have to keep turning the pages and embrace each chapter. As we don't know what story will unfold for us, isn't this where the real lessons and beauty hide within? #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawarness #mindset #charityevent #walking #walkingforwellness #healthoflinikedin #mentalhealthlinkedin BREED Australia Emmanuel Martin CPA Nathan Burbridge GAICD Jorden Minos Rick K Will Gray Bob Turner Carl Jennings NZBM

Reasons you should watch this video: 1. You believe that improving mental health outcomes is important 2. You believe that being present in the moment is key to those improvements 3. You like watching people have the time of their lives 22 Jumps Elevate Outdoors Rope Swing Moab Matthew LaJeunesse
For those associated with 22 Jumps, we intimately understand the restorative power of willfully putting yourself in high-stress situations and living through them. Since our inception, it has been our goal to figure out how to bring servicemembers, veterans, and first responders into action sports through a restorative framework. In November 2023, after 18 months of planning, 8 veterans and first responders gathered in Moab, UT to launch a proof of concept for a new kind of retreat. In the end, the organizers got just as much out of it as the participants, and we're excited to continue expanding our vision of community, resilience-building, and non-pharmacological mental health outcomes improvement. Our friends at Cooper Investors laced up their shoes on September 10 and celebrated the company's 21st anniversary by walking 21 kilometres to end human trafficking in Vietnam! "I've visited the projects in Vietnam and I really want to support this team's wonderful work. I think philanthropy has many parallels with the way we allocate capital. Looking for great people, with great energy, with good business acumen and good organisational skills applied to areas of opportunity or, in this case, need," says the company's founder, Peter Cooper. Cooper Investors was one of Blue Dragon's first corporate supporters. They got behind our work with disadvantaged children and families when we were just getting started, and they haven't looked back since. Companies like them are the perfect example that, no matter our sector, no matter our line of work, as long as we put our minds -and feet!- to it, we all have the power to do good! If you would like your company to contribute to the fight to end human trafficking too, don't hesitate to drop us a line at info@bdcf.org. #GivingBack #CorporateSocialResponsibility #BusinessForGood #BeTheChange
Last month, 21 dedicated Cooper Investors team members and their families joined forces to make a difference in the fight against human trafficking in Vietnam by participating in the Blue Dragon Children's Foundation Annual Marathon Walk. 🙏 Walking the talk, our team (including Peter Cooper, Rhys Cahill, Nicole Engelman and Deena Hooper), raised over $18,000 for this incredibly important cause. But the impact didn't stop there! The 2023 Blue Dragon Marathon Walk was a resounding success, raising a staggering $372,270 - more than doubling last year's efforts. We're proud to be part of such a compassionate and impactful community that comes together to create change. Thank you to everyone who supported our cause and contributed to this remarkable achievement! 💙🌟 #CooperInvestors #BlueDragon #MakingADifference #CommunitySupport #Philanthropy #CharityPartner Click the following link to watch highlights from the day https://lnkd.in/g75H2Tz2 For more information on Cooper Investor's Philanthropy programs, please visit here: https://lnkd.in/gSXJQSFv
