Tech divers like to dive deep, but have you ever considered diving high? We’re talking altitude people—places like Boesmansgat Cave, South Africa; Lake Titicaca, South America; or even Lake Tahoe, Nevada. What’s more, these high altitude dives require special knowledge, equipment, and technique to conduct safely.

I’m often asked about one’s impact on marine tourism. Question: Do dive lights harm manta rays? Answer: Probably not, but it's the divers, boat (and guide) behaviour you should be aware of. I select operators that have a code of conduct and who support science & outreach. If they arrange ocean cleanups then even better. Diving into Adventure: My Experience Scuba Diving with Sharks 🦈 This past weekend, I had the exhilarating opportunity to go scuba diving with sharks. This once-in-a-lifetime adventure not only challenged my limits but also offered a profound connection with the marine world. From the moment I descended into the deep blue, I was captivated by the grace and majesty of these incredible creatures. Contrary to their fearsome reputation, sharks are elegant, inquisitive, and crucial to maintaining the balance of our ocean's ecosystems. Here are a few takeaways from my dive: Respect and Understanding: Sharks are often misunderstood. Spending time in their habitat allowed me to appreciate their role in the marine ecosystem and dispel some common myths. Facing Fears: This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone. It was a reminder that growth often lies just beyond our fears. Environmental Awareness: Witnessing the beauty of the underwater world firsthand reinforces the importance of protecting our oceans. Conservation is key to ensuring these magnificent creatures thrive for future generations. I'm incredibly grateful for this experience and the new perspective it has given me. If you ever get the chance to scuba dive with sharks, I highly recommend it! It's a humbling and awe-inspiring adventure that will stay with you forever. #ScubaDiving #SharkDiving #MarineLife #Adventure #PersonalGrowth #Conservation

Do you like to snorkel or dive on holiday? If so this week's #SustainabilitySunday is for you. I want to share a scheme that is a hugely useful for people who care about the health of coral reefs and how tourism affects them. Green Fins Members (dive centres, snorkelling centres, liveaboards) protect and conserve coral reefs by following environmental guidelines that promote a sustainable diving and snorkelling industry. If you see your activity provider is a Green Fins member, you can be certain they follow a set of principles such not touching or anchoring on corals. Want to check the Green Fins members around where you'll next be holidaying? You can search them here: https://greenfins.net/ I know I'll be recommending Green Fins members to my customers from now on - will you be using this resource too? #SustainableTourism #ResponsibleTourism #Snorkelling #Scuba #Diving #GreenFin #GreenFins #CoralReefs #Coral

If you're coming from a first-world nation, odds are very good that most of the places you would travel to would actually be cheaper than where you're coming from. I came from California, one of the most expensive places in the world. You're in London. So it's ironic when people think of travel as an expensive thing because they're usually thinking of a two-week vacation in Hawaii, all expenses paid, and going on tours and scuba diving and so forth, fancy hotels. 95 percent of the world is much cheaper than what you're accustomed to if you come from a first-world nation in a major city. #BudgetTravel #AffordableAdventures #TravelTips #SaveMoneyOnTravel #DigitalNomadLife #ExploreTheWorld #TravelOnABudget #IncomeWhileTraveling #Wanderlust #CheapDestinations
